Are you kidding me Law? A career record of 70-84 equates to a winning percentage of .450. Tell me if that's wrong. Show me where Frank Martin's winning percentage in his 4 years isnt better than Kruger's. Show me where making it out of the 2nd round THREE times in 25 years is considered a great coach? Hell, Pearl did that in a 5 year span and Hat argues that he's an awful coach (don't agree or disagree). Funny how some use or dismiss facts around here.

Great point. A 20 or so win NIT season always trumps an 18 win year with an NCAA appearance.

Do you really think so, pard? I mean, I don't know how y'all measure successes up in here, but I would rather my Demon Deacons make the NCAA Tournament than win more regular season games but be relegated to the littler tournament. You might be right, though. Sometimes it's just better to take the lesser deal.

Hell, it's like that one time when a fella came in tryin' to buy a brand new 760Li. He was so flipped on his trade in that I could only approve him for a five year old 325i. He became angrier than a cross-eyed wombat in a Dutch oven factory. He went out to his rig and grabbed a Mexican blunderbuss pistol, came back in, loaded it, and shot up the ceiling. He kept yellin', "Greg said he was asleep, Greg said he was asleep!" Then, before anyone could catch their breath, he went to the lumber store, bought a cord of knotty Douglas-fir, rented a Gradall telehandler, came back, dumped the wood all over a brand new black X5, and set it on fire while he urinated on the whole mess. I asked him if he still wanted to talk numbers on the 325i, to which he replied, "Well, I really wanted somethin' more family friendly." Nevertheless, he ended up drivin' off the lot in it, and everyone was happy. He continues to be one of our best repeat customers.

First, I was under the impression that you said it equaled a .400 winning percentage. Frank Martin walked into a much better situation than Lon Kruger did. Lon Kruger has done a nice job everywhere he's been but has left most of the time before being able to enjoy the fruits of his labor. And, Hat nor anyone else on here that I'm aware of has said that Pearl is an awful coach. You seem to have a way of attributing fabricated statements to posters on here to "prove them wrong." I also don't recall anyone saying that Larry Shyatt was the second coming of Phil Jackson. Rather, Hat just said that he would do well at Wyoming.

No, nor would anyone with an IQ above 70.

Well, I don't know about that, pard. The way I see it, some very learned fellas might like it if their favorite squad won more games durin' regular season play than make the NCAA Tournament. This group of fellas might include those who wager U.S. currency on the contests, and folk who really want a free taco when the home squad scores over 100 points.

Wow.

Looking at your tired azz posts never gets old, pard. Don't you have a sheep to harass?

Hell, I haven't owned a single sheep since the revenue man seized my last herd in 1997, pard. I still have three llamas, however. The little one, Roger, likes bananas.

... I can feel myself slipping into a state of hilljack hypnosis reading your work pard...

I do apologize if my prose has such an effect on you, pard. It is not my intention to lead anyone off topic. Hell, I was just givin' a few examples of those who might indeed be pleased with a better regular season record in an NCAA Tournament appearance's stead.

Hope we aren't as bad as Auburn was last year.

Zo was .500 against Auburn in his tenure at MS.
That was with unrated players.
He's starting with 4 stars here so hopefully we'll be better than Auburn was.

Not much coming back bro.

Lots of potential in Golden and McCrae.

"As the AAU season comes to an end, we will highlight some of the top programs in the state. Atlanta Celtics 17U- Probably the best trio in the nation with Ryan Harrow, Trae Golden, and Jordan McCrae. On any given Sunday, each of these guys could post 30+ on the board. ....Golden is a very strong shooting guard that is money from downtown. McCrae is a long lanky small forward that is at best during run 'n gun play and slashing to the basket. "

RealDeal - 2009
"The Celtics didn’t have their best performance against the Southeast Elite on the big stage, losing by 9. Trae Golden was the bright spot, making tough shots and big time moves to keep the Celtics in the game. Also, Jordan McCrae was showing off his athleticism making plays and shooting the ball with confidence. "

Ittakes5ive - 2008
"A late game I was watching and all of a sudden this kid stood out with sensational athletic ability and really good hops. It was Atlanta Celtics 16s standout Jordan McCrae, who had 54 points in two games. "

There's HOPE?
