It is an interesting myth, at least from my perspective working in the criminal justice field, that most people go to jail and only the rich and famous get off.

In fact I would say that most people get off, but only the rich and famous have a news story published about it.
After leaving a birthday party, he crashed into and killed a woman in 1998, and blew a .19% blood alcohol level, over double the legal limit. He got 4 years probation and 1,000 hours of community service.

In 2004, he was arrested for DWI while going 78mph in a 55mph zone.He failed 3 roadside sobriety tests, and admitted drinking to police. He was convicted of misdemeanor speeding, but acquitted on DWI. He got 2 years probation that time.

But, he played a game involving a leather ball at U.T., and he's a VFL, so all is forgiven. It's not like it was your mother who died.

Not really wanting to get into a debate about LL and his past transgressions, but please use common sense when it comes to what he did and not write it off as no big deal. A husband lost his wife and children lost their mother. That is a very big deal.

I think LL is close with Big Al. Maybe Al is coming home to finish his degree and join the staff in some form or function.

I saw that he had tweeted about a week ago that he was looking forward to working out with Curt Maggit and the Beast. I'll bet this is what he is referring to.

If the guy hadn't played football at U.T., and had killed a member of your family while driving drunk, how would you feel about him? Especially after he didn't learn his lesson and drove while intoxicated again.

Should football players get a pass? I mean , if that's okay with you, just say it. Should O.J. have been given a pass because he played a stupid game with a leather ball?

He made a terrible mistake (I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose), should he just say "F life, I'm not worthy of trying to overcome it, I'll just feel sorry for myself and stick with a bottle and drain every cent from the taxpayers I can"?

I mean come on, no one is voting for him as "The Man of the Year", we're posting about a tweet.

Who said he did it on purpose? I'm fairly certain he didn't jump in his car and say "I'm gonna go kill someone", but he was intoxicated and he chose to drive. Someone died, it was his fault. IMO you learn from that experience and never make that mistake again. LL didn't learn that lesson. I'm not judging him, but he doesn't need defending either. He's a grown man that made poor decisions. He's not a victim. But there are victims in the story, and they deserve sympathy.

I got ya. I watch every football game that Tennessee plays, but I keep it in perspective. It's a stupid game with a leather ball. All games are stupid. I played them all years ago, and still play golf, which is really stupid, but I'm getting too old for the others now. My point is that people put these athletes on a pedestal that they don't belong on.

The pedestal that I REALLY don't understand is TV and movie stars. These are the same weirdos that are in plays at Clarence Brown, but they are being filmed while doing their job. It is amazing that these people are glorified, and their opinions are given credence on topics on which they have no expertise..

Back on topic. I have no idea what he was talking about in his tweet but what we do know is that it isn't recruiting related and it is big for both alum and fans. The fact that its big for fans would lead me to believe its not anything to do with the party being in thrown in Nashville. That's cool that he's doing it but wouldn't consider that big news for fans.

I would love to see Big Al come home and finish his degree. Needs that degree if he wants to climb the coaching ladder. I'm not sure if he does want to pursue coaching, but he certainly has the passion for the game to do it.

And you're "stoned in da zone" according to your location. Alrighty then Judge Weezer.

I'm not defending him, at all! According to the "courts", he has "paid his due". He, if he has a soul, will pay for what he has done for the rest of his life. Again, I welcome any positive news about the Vols from anyone.....even if it's really no big deal, from a tweet and even if he is on death row.
