Let's compare Jesus and Muhammed (and debate homosexuality) (and Tombstone).

I love how some of the baptist/protestants here are accusing the church with a continuous history of making things up, when they've only existed for the last 400 years as a denomination and got their original scripture directly from the source they discredit: Catholic translations.

Is this what catholics believe.

Not a Catholic, so I don't know for sure. I honestly don't think so. trUT knows a good deal about Catholicism. I would defer to him on the matter. To me if she was, she would be on par with Jesus as being sinless. I once thought that Catholics held Mary as basically divinity until I did the prudent thing by asking a priest rather then speculating on my limited exposure to Catholicism.

Catholics do believe that Mary was sinless; however, she does not possess any divine powers and is, therefore, not on nearly the same level Jesus.

Does anyone who believes in Jesus disagree with the following points?

1. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
2. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
3. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
4. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
5. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again.
6. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
7. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
8. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
9. the forgiveness of sins,
10. the resurrection of the body,
11. and life everlasting.

Do Muslims have something similar?

They have the first seven lines of the Koran:

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
The Beneficent, the Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help.
Keep us on the right path.
The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray.

Actually it's an Iphone4.

"fake stations"? Do you believe that Jesus was whipped? Or had a crown of Thorns placed on his head? Or fell while carrying the cross? Or was nailed to the cross? Or was pierced with a sword?

Why are u here? Shouldn't u be getting ready for the rapture?

Any serious student of the Bible knows that Christ said "No man knows the hour" of His return.

Any serious student of the Bible knows that Christ said "No man knows the hour" of His return.

Does it also state that "no man may guess the hour, correctly?"

Because I have a group of atheists willing to pop out several children (nurture, after all), all who plan on popping out several children, who will continue to "know" that the end of the world is every hour of every day.

Just to forever forgo your Rapture.

So, I ask again, is God smarter than that, and therefore, can't man "guess the hour, know it, and be correct?"

As the "serious student" of the Bible, I'm sure you'll have an answer.

Your hypothesis is hilarious.

Atheists do not breed. They are derelicts, alcoholics, the deranged etc. Many of them are professors, usually in philosophy, religious studies or another part of the humanities department where they can glad hand with Marxist bedwetting colleagues.

They just take other peoples children who are smarter than an average person but not intelligent enough to think critically and engage, and cow them with their pseudointellectual bravado.

They also as a group hate God. That is because as a group, they are like Madeleine Murray O'Hare and are not atheists at all. They are rebels who hate the God that made them.

Atheism is depressing (look at all the nihilists) and sometimes gives fertile ground for the reconquista of evangelism.

But you are write Float. You and your buddies in Tiger High Schools crappy french literature department have stumped God. He was going to send back His Son to judge the living and the dead, but now He cant.

We make no plans to stump God, only some of His believers.

I take it we succeeded today, at least in part.

C'est la vie.

Many atheists not only have children but also are anti-Marxists who have served multipile deployments fighting for American interests.

You're an idiot. Seriously.

You sound like you're jealous of atheists.

Yep, you nailed me. I always wanted to be an atheist. I am going to immediately pull out my winter knit hat, place it firmly over my hair and head to the Apple Store so I can buy a Macbook that I can take to Starbucks so I can write some awesome book reviews of Hitchens before he sloughs off to hell.

Baptists are notprotestants.

Baptist beliefs came down through the Armenian church and even today there is an Armenian quarter in Jerusalem.

Most of the time you don't really know what you are talking about, you know that don't you??

Do Muslims have something similar?

Sort of like this:?

Hadith Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176:
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:

Allah’s Apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’ “

Yeah right, listen to the rocks talking to you, they'll tell you what to do.

I've got a pet rock, if it ever starts telling me to kill Jews, I'm going to throw it in the river or maybe bust it with a man sized hammer.

But all islamic authorities say that later verses take precedence over earlier verses because allah had revealed more to muhammed (during his epileptic siezures.)

A later verse, and it gets worse.

“Slay them (unbelievers) wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter.” - Surah 2:191 –Queer'an

BTW, one of the 'favors' is the promise of 72 virgins if one dies fighting for allah, that must be hell, trying to satisfy 72 women, it's pretty damned hard to satisfy one from my experience.

I wouldn't mind walking up those. Mad respect for the artists of the Renaissance.

"It is better to resist in the beginning than in the end."
Leonardo da Vinci

(speaking of islam)

Going up on my knees was easily one of the most painful things I have ever done (and, I have done a lot of painful things).

Did you ever answer my question about whether you were a defrocked pedophile Catholic priest or not?

BTW, I keep gravitating back to the topic, ie, comparing Jesus and muhammed.

Did Jesus promise sexual favors?....NO

Did muhammed promise sexual favors?... Yep, he pimped out 72 imaginary whores as if he had an assembly line the likes of which Henry Ford would be proud.

Did you ever answer my question about whether you were a defrocked pedophile Catholic priest or not?

I did not answer your question. I am not nor ever was a Catholic priest. The fact that you ask such a question though, in light of my views, makes me believe that subconsciously you firmly believe that one only adamantly rejects something if and when they are living in denial. Of course, this would lead to the following implications, GS:

1. You are a homosexual.
2. You are jealous of militant Islamists because they are doing to infidels, by their definition, what you wish you had the courage to do to infidels, by your definition.

Have fun searching for pictures and unsubstantiated blog articles to worm your way out of this one.

Citation?

Point me towards the "many" atheist American servicemen who are combat vets. I don't buy it.

Feel free to visit any Infantry Battalion on any Army Post in the nation. From personal experience, I can claim that the percentage of atheists/agnostics in the infantry units I was in is at least 30% and more than likely up over 40%.

I guess in your case a acorn a day keeps the doctor away.

So no medical, scientific, social, etc...advancements were as beneficial for the world? I smell bias.

We were speaking of religion and spiritual matters.

Actually it was academia and not religion that first objected to Galileo's revolutionary ideas, they were set in their ideas about Greek assumptions and his telescope turned their world upside down.

For the most part Christianity and science (Latin for knowledge) have gone hand in hand.

On the other hand, islam has taken credit for scientific discoveries it did not make but robbed from other cultures.

A prime example is the arabic numeral, which it took from the Hindus of the Indus valley.

Oh and while they were taking the arabic numeral and learning about the concept of zero, they didn't neglect to take nearly a million slaves and murder a couple million men and rape their wives. Stuff like that they don't teach you in sixth grade.

which came from the catholic church. . .

Not so, any more than the Assyrian church came from the roman catholics.

I used to believe that Mary held near God status and Catholics prayed to her. I talked with a priest about this. He gave a reasonable explanation. He said that they ask Mary to intercede for them. I questioned the basis of this. He said that it was Mary that asked Jesus to intercede for the 1st time by turning water into wine at the wedding supper. It made more sense to me after that. I still am not Catholic, but I came to understand the 'why' of the matter.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

When I was in the service a sgt got drunk with us one night and passed out, we gave him a hot foot, he exclaimed; "Mary mother of Jesus" and we figured out he must be Catholic.

The most important thing to note here is that Jesus turned water into wine so we really shouldn't be letting any wine go to waste, especially at weddings.

I was raised baptist. We took communion quarterly.

I visited the Vatican a couple of times, the first time the Pope appeared unannounced for the first time in a half century and gave an impromtu blessing.

I was the first one to spot him and when he waved, I waved back but most of the others were bowing and crossing themselves and so forth.

The guy I was with kept trying to explain to me the significance of the event and I kept telling him, that guy pulls his pants on just like me, if he was blessing me I was just blessing him back, seemed like the neighborly thing to do!

ISLAM IS THE SCOURGE OF THE EARTH
ELIMINATE ISLAM AT ALL COSTS

Winston Churchill said words to that effect more or less.

Some defend iSLAM because they are nothing more than quavering cowards.

Some defend iSLAM because they think it makes them sound superior.

Some defend iSLAM because they think their moral relativism will protect them.

Some defend iSLAM because they think appeasement will protect them.

Some defend iSLAM because they are ignorant of iSLAM’s consistent bloody swath through human history.

Some defend iSLAM because they like its fight against Christianity.

Some defend iSLAM because they like its fight against the Jews.

Some defend iSLAM because they like its fight against that other guy’s religion.

Some defend iSLAM because they are sleeper elements of a fifth column in our country.

Some defend iSLAM because it is their faith and they will be murdered by their ‘brothers’ if they leave.

Some defend iSLAM because they are misogynists and the cult gives them what they want.

Some defend iSLAM because they are as primitive as it is.

Some defend iSLAM because they like its fight against America (because their turd-world nations are so far beneath America).

Some defend iSLAM because it’s the popular thing to do.

Some defend iSLAM because they are dumb as a box of rocks. (what other religion speaks of talking rocks?)

Some of them would defend the Aztec cannibals or the Thuggee cult if those religions of peace were alive today!

And I'm not sure the Thuggee religion is all that dead yet, have you seen anyone recently with 'thug' tattooed on their forearm???

Are you familiar with Kali the goddess of Thugna??

If so would you defend it's murderous creed as you do the murderous creed of islam??

Any so-called religion that teaches small children their highest calling in life is to kill a Jew deserves a bit more scrutiny than you give it and to call it a religion of peace is but a loomingly large lie.

hezbollahkidsnazisalute.jpg

“Ask for Death the life will be given to you.” This slogan, which was broadcast on Palestinian television on July 5th of 2002, was also the headline chosen by the authors of Palestinian Media Watch as the title of their 40th research report. This report examines the social pressure exerted by the Palestinian Authority [PA] on children to die as “Shahids” [Death for Allah].

Any political group that teaches children the nazi salute and the local best seller is 'mein kampf' should be examined a bit more closely than you would recommend, no doubt about that in my mind.

You claim to be a student of our times, can you enlighten me just how Obama's claim that moslems helped found the American nation has any basis in fact?

That factoid wasn't in my history books even though they left out islam's sordid history also, I had to learn that on my own, I'll bet you have a good reference ready that I can read and get myself up to date on how islam assisted America sometime or another??
