Let's Give Up on the Constitution

I would rather have them then have my choices for direct representation in DC limited.

Now, I also want congress to be cut back to 90 days in session per year, cut salary accordingly, no per diem (build barracks and chow hall for them) and no pension or HC benefits once out of office.
I'm not going to rehash what I have posted for years but your ideas plus all salaries and expenses to be born by the states that elect them.

It’s not used often enough. I’m pretty sure you don’t get the gist of what he said. You’re on a micro level, he’s on a macro level.
It was made difficult to keep knee jerk loony changes being made to it.

Most people may not want to face it, but this country is past the point of salvation. We need to start planning for a (hopefully peaceful) separation.
At this point, I don’t understand why people are against it. There is no common ground any more. You have two distinct trains of thought that cannot exist with each other. If anyone is against it, it means they want to enforce their will on others. I don’t want to tell California what to do, but I sure as hell don’t want California and New York telling me what to do. Separate peacefully and both sides will be happier.

No separation needed. Less federal, much less, and more state and local.

History dictates, as well as human nature, when two distinct trains of thought cannot exist with each other, force and might make right.

Simply put, the vast majority of Americans are not capable, and are lacking the conviction and gumption needed to face such a situation.

We are moving to a more dependent citizen. Lazy, incompetent, and doesn't give a s***.

People worry about things they do nothing to change. Talk is cheap, and we are a country of talkers more than anything now.

Too many people, too many opinions, and too many average that think they are excellence personified.

At the end of the day, if we can't get along, or at minimum just tolerate one another, the "smartest person" in the room is the toughest. Deal with the simplicity of that reality. Because, for the vast majority, you are screwed.

I think it's more nuanced than just two trains of thoughts but overall I agree with your assessment.

Like, Army barracks or a USAF 5 Star establishment?

It does make a difference.

I've never eaten in one. Navy and AF but never an jarhead chow hall.

Gitmo and Miramar. Both were above average.

I don't count the deployed locations since those generally run by a contractor. KBR run chow halls were the 36DD establishments of the ME.

I'd love to see the SCOTUS justices talk about Texas v. White and their thoughts on the Constitutionality of secession.

I know it's "precedent" but how can you create a nation with strict guidelines on how to enter, but exactly zero on how to leave?
It's just like Hotel California.

It seems to go against the very spirit under which the country was founded.

Beleive them, they really want to destroy the constitution....and as this thread shows it's been a consistant point of attack for years.

Enemies of The Republic.

From the Dean of UC Berkeley Law….

It only took this Dean of a Law school 7 paragraphs to link Senators to population. That’s a losing argument to me every time. He linked EC to population in paragraph 6, which is also a stupid point, but I at least see the EC as something that can be fine tuned (meaning, why is my red vote from a red district in NY completely irrelevant to the Presidency and vice versa for the blue vote from a blue county in Tennessee?)

We don't really do many blue counties in Tennessee anymore. Though with all the incoming west coast refugees, and immigration that may change.

I was heading home from game weekend in Knoxville yesterday and thinking about blue state migration to Tennessee. I would certainly move there in a heartbeat if I could. But I live further upstate, and despite the known crappiness with taxes, the quality of life here is very good. Much different than the City. And that’s where I think most migrants are leaving from. The dense blue areas of NY.

Which means as Tennessee may get more blue, NY is becoming more red.

This is the meanest thing said to me this weekend.... and that is saying something. 🤣 The blue part.
