Does anyone really believe Pearl is leaving? Be might buck for a pay raise, but I don't see him moving to Memphis. Arizona, OTOH...

What would be the reasoning in "talking to" Purnell? Seems like a good coach, but I don't see anything about him that screams "can't miss," unless you're a smaller school or something like that.

Some guys, for whatever reason, manage to get themselves mentioned for jobs ad nauseum. He's one of those guys. ADs love him because he has a pristine ethical record.

He's not and I don't think he'd take the Memphis gig. Be would definitely use it for a pay raise.

Also for those who think that Pat is over the hill coaching at UT, better have their heads checked. She had a young group on board, so let's be patient and the Lady Vols will be back in the Final 4 in 2 years(if you can wait).:thumbsup:

I actually had a dream one night back November that UT hired Dave Wannstedt as the new football coach. It was awful. I was so relieved when I woke up and realized it wasn't real.

Pearl would be a great fit for Memphis. Only folks on the list that would excite me would be Miller or Martelli.

Probably 3-4 years if I had to guess.
I just think Nolan Richardson would be solid. Its academic anyway, because I doubt Hamilton would give him any consideration as a candidate, but I would take 3-4 years of Nolan Richardson.

wrong....none of those coaches would have taken the job back then....UT was considered a coach's graveyard with the oversized TBA.....if that was the case, then why didn't UT hire one of those big name coaches instead of Pearl.....use your head for something other than sewage system.....
