Let's talk about Justin Worley

From what ive seen, that Gatorade POY hasnt ment a single thing. Worley just isnt very good. If you watch his passes, he stiff arms nearly every throw. He also has terrible pocket pressence and makes bad decesions(Petermans decesions arent much better). IMO, With either Worley or Peterman, we go 5-7. But I also think Dobbs will be the starter.

Thanks coach. Better make sure you pass your expert observations on to CBJ and staff.

Haven't been impressed by the little playing time he has, but I'm waiting to see what he does when they actually open up the playbook and let him throw something besides slants and hooks

Oh come on ...Hunter did good his first year, but anybody could see that he wasn't fully aware of what to do. There is a whole lot more to being a starting WR in the SEC than just catching a few long balls. what Larry is saying is right. We have a whole corp of WR who will be on OJT. That is a recipe for disaster. IMO you will see some awesome physical plays, and a ton of screw ups like..missed blocks..blown assignments..bad reads and such like to start out the season. I think as the season goes on it will get better.

You must have missed the MTSU game , where he was 23-32 for almost 300 yards in his freshman year.
Yes he did well in that game. I guess this last seasons performances are what is sticking in my mind. I hope he has a lot of games like that this year. He managed that game very well.

One thing I think could be in Worley's favor for a good season. Isn't Butches offense a lot more like the O his HS team ran compared to Chaney's?

Hunter was known as a very hard worker and studied very hard. Go back and look at the WR Corp his Frosh year and who lead the team with receptions. Hunter was well above "good" as a Frosh.

He will be asked to take care of the ball and manage the game. I'm fine with that. He doesn't have brays mentality (thank god) and the OC won't cater to that like Chaney did. He will throw short efficient passes , hand the ball off, and pick n choose his long throws. I'm fine w it. I think he will do alright when given a real chance.

Hunter was a hard worker but he was soft too. Wish he never would have gotten hurt.

The only decent playing time that Worley got in 2012 that I can remember was against Vandy. He was 8-11 for 51 yards and one int. The int was caused by Patterson turning up the field , instead of breaking to the sideline, after the ball as released.

He was in for 2 series in the second quarter, if my memory is correct, and drove the team to a field goal on the 2nd possession. Worley would have had a TD and about 75 yards on those 11 passes if Hunter hadn't let a perfectly thrown pass in the endzone hit him in the facemask, and bounce off.

I wasn't, and am not going to bash Worley. I just spoke to some misgivings I have about him. I realy hope he does great.

I think his performance in the spring game is still lingering in the back of everybody's minds..

It's a spring game. How did bray ever do in a spring game. That's what it's for. Hell, saban wasn't happy with AJs 2013 spring game. Worley didn't have carter, croom,Downs, or Tiny protecting him. King went down very early too. He will be alright.

I have confidence in Worley. In high school, he was the type of quarterback who rallied from behind at the end of a big game, instead of giving up. His arm looked strong and accurate in last year's Vandy game. He made good reads and executed with precision. I think he will be ready to lead Bajakian's offense, because he is a pretty smart guy who played very well in a similar offense during high school. Let him go the distance for a few games to get settled, and he will be fine, imo. I also like Peterman's running ability. We might see him this year, but the coaches should let Worley establish himself before mixing it up.
