Worley seems like a good kid and has a decent arm. I'm just ready to move into the phase of using the whole field, including the qb's legs. I think, besides defense, that's how you can pull some games out or extend drives that keeps your offense off the field. Every team we played knew for the past 4 years that we were going to run short passes on 3rd and 3-4+ yards, or maybe even just run a go route down the sideline. It's time teams had to prepare to defend a qb's legs for a UT team again, imo. The spread on 3rd and 4 with multiple weapons and using the entire field is more difficult to cover than Worley trying to play action and hit a quick throw.
You have no idea if this is the case or not. We've not seen what this team is good doing. Jones will put the best out there.

Who was the leading WR for the team that year? What a player knows doesn't always relate to the amount of receptions. Frosh will usually get fewer than upper class wr. This year we are in a much different situation. But Hunter knew quite a bit more than you're giving him credit.

Honestly it looks like he's going to be the starting QB. We can hope and dream of a freshman coming in and being just that good but I wouldn't bank on it. So what does everyone think of Worley? Is anyone optimistic about him? Has anyone seen anything out of him that makes them think he can bring something to the table?
The reason I'm asking is because I pretty much only hear negative talk about him from other fans (and to be honest I'm not exactly excited about him either). So does anyone out there have reasonable hope that this kid could be the real deal? Does he seem to have any specific skill set (game management, checks down well, etc) that would make you feel that way?
Basically do you/ do you not like him? And why/ why not?
In the Dobbs thread somebody said he is pretty slow too. Something like 4.94 in 40. He won't be able to get away from anybody at that rate. Maybe they are wrong though.
Gerald Jones had 55 catches
Moore had 47
Hunter 16
Z Rogers 14
D Rogers 11
that was the only WRs to have any receptions
I have no idea if what is the case?
I gave my opinion in defending the whole field and prefer a qb that can get out of the pocket and get yards to extend drives.
that's twice you have said something to that affect. Well no **** I have no idea at the speed our wr's will play at. None of us do.
I didn't say any of our guys wouldn't be ready or would. It's June.
He was thrown in the lions den his freshman season and it showed with poor performances. He only threw a few passes his sophomore season. I just don't think I have seen enough of this guy to form an opinion. I can tell you though that I would love nothing more than for him to come in a tear sh*t up, just so everyone that has trash talked him has to eat their words.
One thing I think could be in Worley's favor for a good season. Isn't Butches offense a lot more like the O his HS team ran compared to Chaney's?
