Let's talk Yemen

Syria? Libya? Yemen?

Are you really being serious right now?

Not sure what you ate even referencing w/ regards to Moldova, bit Georgia and Ukraine were clearly Western sponsored and endorsed actions that were intended to be aggressive towards Russia.

The UN, for the most part, has been a utility of the United States. But recently, you are starting to see a shift among countries moving away from the US.

Syria and Libya had UN approval and USA wasn't in Libya, that was France and Italy.

Yemen - USA isn't there, that is Saudi Arabia

Sure we have special forces guarding US Citizens or UN relief agency but no invading armies.

As for Georgia, Moldovia, and Ukraine, you have to be in denial lol. Transnistria for Moldova, Russo-Georgian war of 2008, Ukraine speaks for itself with Crimea and current war.

Why post on here? No one takes you seriously and they see you as the idiotic defender of Russia on everything. Sorry Russia can't make friends or get UN Support. It is a loser nation and you are a loser for defending them. If they had a better leader, perhaps they wouldn't have all their current problems.

Listen, comrade, counties make pledges of protection all the time. Russia and Iran absolutely got guarantees that China would back them up if the West gets involved in direct battles, whether it’s financial, weapons, or anything else needed. All these flair ups aren’t due to Israel’s or the Ukraine’s actions. The struggles for global dominance didn’t end after WW2, and neither China nor Russia are the good guys in this by any means. If you held them to the same standard that you use on the West, you might actually have credibility.
Having pledges that China would back them is far different than Iran or Russia initiating a conflict based on the word of China. Even the Iranians and Russians know that it is one thing to say "I have your back" before a fight, but far different to depend on China after the shooting starts. Unlike the United States, most countries understand the costs and consequences of war. They understand war on their home turf. No one alive in America has had to deal with foreign armies on a rampage in their cities and towns, mass civilian casualties and destruction of our infrastructure. That is precisely why we have this cavalier attitude about war... because we don't know what real war is on our turf. We are used to sending rockets and missiles to guys in sandals with AK-47s in East Asia and in the sandbox.

Syria and Libya had UN approval and USA wasn't in Libya, that was France and Italy.
You are FOS. We were involved in overthrowing Khaddafi and arming the militants there... then we transfered the weapons to Syria by way of Turkiye. And if we had no involvement in Libya, the why the hell was Hillary so giddy saying "We came. We saw. He died"?

Yemen - USA isn't there, that is Saudi Arabia
Who was arming and supporting the Saudis in that conflict, genius? Plausible deniabilty... using a proxy doesn't remove our involvement or responsibilities for the mess.

Sure we have special forces guarding US Citizens or UN relief agency but no invading armies.
WTF do we have in NE Syria? Or for that matter in Northen Iraq? Iraqis don't want us there anymore, but we won't leave, and we were not invited by the Syrians. So that makes us an invading and occupying army.

As for Georgia, Moldovia, and Ukraine, you have to be in denial lol. Transnistria for Moldova, Russo-Georgian war of 2008, Ukraine speaks for itself with Crimea and current war.
Moldova, Romania and Transnistria are all issues that linger from WWII and Stalin. Just go back and read just a little bit of history about that.

It is a loser nation and you are a loser for defending them. If they had a better leader, perhaps they wouldn't have all their current problems.
You are a Kool-aid sipping lunatic. Have you seen the US and our leadership? If Russia is a loser, WTF is the US right now?

Name one UN sanction against the US? In fact, none of the myths you mentioned have seen the UN criticize the USA. The only item that was deliberately against international order was our 2003 invasion of Iraq which you have to repeat again in here to even have an argument.

Meanwhile, Russia was sanction in the general UN Assembly and would have been in the Security Council if not for the fact they have a veto.

BTW, why are you even here? I have asked you that several times. You hate the USA and love Russia so move there. This is a TENNESSEE VOLS chat forum. Can you even name a single player on our Football team? Have you made one post on our Football or Basketball forums?

Uh….9/11???
What about 9-11? That doesn't compare to anything that has occurred in any of the wars we have been engaged in. And before you get your panties knotted up, that isn't me trying to diminish the tragedy that it was. But it is far different than what an Iraqi, Syrian, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Japanese, Vietnamese, Cambodian or Afghans has seen in comparison. America has seen the true horrors of war since the Civil War. Are there any Civil War survivors out here that I'm not aware of?

You just made my point with regards to the UN being a US utility.

In fact, none of the myths you mentioned have seen the UN criticize the USA.
Exactly

Yeah, and we still did it anyways.

Did we get UNSC approval before we bombed Serbia in 1999?

BTW, why are you even here? I have asked you that several times.
I've probably answered several times.

You hate the USA and love Russia so move there.
I hate how my country has been behaving. We can and should be doing much better.

There are a lot of things that I don't like about our government as well but I am not unhinged about it nor am I going to ignore other countries' flaws for my own. Russia can do NO WRONG in your eyes while USA can do NO RIGHT. I think that is the difference. You are extreme to the point that you literally sound like a Russian.

Also the fact that you have Vols in your name but have yet to post a single sports related post is pertinent. I have been tempted to get the mods to ban you because I don't think you are even a Tennessee fan. I haven't reported you yet.

Who petitioned the UN security council for a no-fly zone over Libya?

Hint: it was not NATO, or a NATO member country.

No but apparently plenty of former slaves.

Well look, you can do whatever you want... free country and all that. I am not a fan of book burning, censorship, silencing people, etc... But if you feel it necessary to ban me, that is fine.

But in the meantime, instead of me looking to recipricate on you or anyone else, I'll just add you to my "ignore" list.

Ras ain’t getting banned. Mods don’t give a flip if he is a TN fan or not and this is the politics forum. He may have a view that many disagree with but that’s what makes this forum good. He isn’t trolling. He’s just stating his own belief which brings about actual debate and that’s a good thing.

He is a Russian czar.

Russia and China have the same power as the US in the UN. its just all that diplomacy you don't think we do actually shows up there.

When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. We don't have diplomats or people making decisions that have common sense. How in the hell do you make the Red Sea shipping situation better by lobbing bombs in the region and making it a war zone? Just dumb. Every problem that occurs, we feel the need to solve it militarily... or with threats and sanctions. We are always choosing belligerence instead of peace.

Red Sea conflict worsens, forcing more ship detours around Africa

Skyrocketing insurance premiums could tip the scales

Spiking insurance costs could ultimately tip the scales for tankers toward the Cape route, said Frode Mørkedal, shipping analyst at Clarksons Securities.

“War risk insurance premiums for ships have skyrocketed,” Mørkedal wrote in a client note on Monday, prior to the attacks on the Gibraltar Eagle and Zografia.

“In the past few weeks, premiums have increased from 0.1% normally to 0.5% of a ship’s hull value. With the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea, we would not be surprised if insurance premiums increase to 1% of the ship’s value.”

Mørkedal cited the example of a 10-year-old LR2 (Long Range 2) product tanker valued at $60 million. The premium is now $300,000, quintuple the usual $60,000. If premiums rose to 1% of hull value, the cost would jump to $600,000. And on top of insurance, the Suez Canal transit fee for an LR2 is around $500,000.
