Letter From 'AA..

I can only speak on behalf of the University of Memphis but the FOIA was applicable to us since we are a state public institution and that included the UMAD. All entities acting on behalf of them fall under this act. Thats my interpretation and is the reason our letter was released a bit earlier than the AD wanted. Im not a lawyer therefore I can only make an educated guess.

not sure how that works since the UTAD is not. Would they be held to the foia? I have no idea

I'm pretty sure it is, hence why all coaches contracts and the like are public knowledge.

To verify - as of now the university doesn't think it's going to get hit too bad in either football or basketball?

I've always been under the assumption that FIOA governed everything with the university....

But, it doesn't matter. Even if they wanted to this ain't staying secret long.

I just mad Memphis St is getting money. If they're eligible we should jump on that gravy train :)

The letter terminating Pearl's contract was obtained via a FOIA request.

Where are all these courts who give people passes for admittedly lying to them? I've never had the pleasure of practicing in one of them. Sounds like fun.

I agree that in court people do not admit to lying. But,
you know as well as I that more lies are told after people
are sworn in than at any other time in human history.

So UT has 90 days to respond to this letter which will put us out to mid-May. Does anyone know how long after that it will be before the AA announces our actual sanctions? We've got 3 sports involved at one time, and that sure doesn't help. Hubbs said it's more likely the school gets hit hardest, but that it's anyone's guess what happens given the AA's bipolar personality.

We got our letter of sanctions in mid june on the same timescale

We also had two sports investigated and three separate infractions in basketball

Partially dependent on how much of our time to respond is used.

Oh, I understand it. However, we have something in the works that will help bridge the gap (or at least give us the opportunity to do so).

Probably the same part the idiots in Chattanooga, Martin, and all Regents schools don't understand either.

The "idiots" in Martin seem to have a pretty good idea of the pecking order.

Get your head outta your ass. When the gov't hands out money, everyone tries to get in on it, regardless of who the flagship school is.

Really? Because the other UT schools seem pretty hellbent on not letting UT get too far ahead of them.
