Letter From 'AA..

Because it would probably give the entrie state a better rep if we'd actually let one school standoff from the others and try to become a top 25 public university.

Once again, I think every 4 year public school in the state needs to learn what the word "flagship" really means and fall in line accordingly.

So it's your contention that UT is not a top 25 university because of all the 4 year public schools in their way? Really?

One factor.

If you don't think that the equalness of the UT system that the chancellors of Chatt and Martin push doesn't hurt the Knoxville campus then you are more clueless than you appear on all other matters.

I'll let your posting continue to establish everyone's opinion of you.

You posted that all the other state 4 year schools need to get in line so UT can become a top 25 university. Possibly the dumbest non-sports related thing I've read here in a while.

You should just quit now. Continuing with the "they're holding us back" line is plain stupid, petty, and uninformed.

His posting of "one factor" wasn't a red flag that maybe, just maybe that's not the only thing holding the Flagship back?

If you think I'm dumb, then that probably means I'm on the right path to being ok.

I believe I said it was one factor that was holding UT back and that the state should figure out what a "flagship" school is and treat it accordingly.

Must I remind you that this is the same guy who thinks GJ is a noble person worthy of all our respect.

The old - "I only meant one factor" back track....right....

You might be smart. But trying to circle back with the "one factor" logic after you are called to task isn't helping your case.

I will pay you $100 if you find one post of any sort I have made saying such. Otherwise you are a lying fool.

You've done nothing but say that you thought it was great of GJ to tell the truth of what he thought of UT and completely taken his side that he did nothing wrong at all. unlike yourself, I have the ability of most third graders to "read between the lines".

I think it's one factor. I could write a 10 page paper on the issue of I wanted to take the time. The issue in discussion was the word "flagship" in this instance that started with IPORANGE and Homefry. I guess I continually overlook the fact that there are people on these boards who don't have the ability to realize that not everything is the total answer in one discussion, or most of the time probably get a hard-on out of being a jackass on a message board.

Like I said, prove what you posted and I'll send you $100. Copy a mod on your facts in a PM.

Otherwise, you have been called out. It's real simple.

Then stand on your own web-toed feet and let's see.

That you fail to see the correlation between funding and institutional excellence is more fatal to your argument than anything I can add to it.

Post 104 is where I referenced it. I see no disclaimer of mulitple causal effects in that post.

Most people know that a competent president as well as some semblance of structure would work wonders. However, acting as if smaller less meaningful schools not knowing their role doesn't hurt is foolish.

Let's be clear on this. I asked a question about your post after reading the thread and you called me clueless on all matters. Now your feelings are hurt since I called you on it?

Posts 258 and 259 seem to be a good indicator that you think Jones is worthy of believeing he's telling the truth, despite tons of evidence to the contrary.

Granted, I know you are going to spin it however you see fit, but alas, a person can pretty much draw conclusions that you have no problems with Jones and think we should believe him.

A competent president and using current funding more appropriately dwarf issues like having UT Martins, ETSUs, and Memphis' as educational institutions in state.

So the fact that the Martin and Chatt chancellors made it a point in this (and probably all of the) presidential search to make sure the UT system woldn't become too Knoxville focused doesn't play into that at all?

You must be joking.

Per-student allotment from state funds:

UTK: 10,783
UTC: 5,964
UTM: 5,627

Total allotment:

UTK: about 240 million
UTC: about 50 million
UTM: about 35 million

I don't know who is supposedly pushing for "equality," but they don't seem to have succeeded.

And how did that posturing work out for them?
