I will pay you $100 if you find one post of any sort I have made saying such. Otherwise you are a lying fool.
What's wrong with Jones telling a recruit he really liked playing for Trooper Taylor and UT is a great school? Basically, Jones is saying that he was positive and honest about everything.
I really don't understand people starting a thread calling a guy trash for telling the truth. The same OP trashes Pearl for lying and now trashes Jones for telling the truth. Some people are never happy when it comes to all things UT.
You see what I did there - double negative in the sentence.
I think Jones told the kid about his experience at UT. Was it all positive? Probably not - Jones was at UT during the coaching turnstile years.
It is what it is. Our current recruiters worked hard to overcome our perception of a tanking program and assure recruits of stability going forward. If one recruit was lost because he believed Jones over our recruiting staff, then best of luck to the young man in Aubarn.
No need to trash Jones for answering his phone and answering questions truthfully.
Its better than the hot sauce method of lying to recruits to get them signed up then having them all kicked off, transferred, and quitting a year later.
You must be joking.
Per-student allotment from state funds:
UTK: 10,783
UTC: 5,964
UTM: 5,627
Total allotment:
UTK: about 240 million
UTC: about 50 million
UTM: about 35 million
I don't know who is supposedly pushing for "equality," but they don't seem to have succeeded.

You read that as saying Jones is a noble person worthy of all our respect?
1. There is definitely a correlation between funding and excellence.
2. UTM and UTC aren't holding UTK back.
I don't want your money. I think my point has been proven.

And you still cannot see how giving UTK an additional $85M (Martin and Chatty's shares, using the numbers you just referenced) would better increase UTK's institutional excellence?
Are you reading - and thinking through - your posts? Maybe that's the disconnect here, because I am certainly trying to do so on this end, with little success.
But, with any success, we'll see if such is correct in both theory and practice. And sooner, rather than later. Pay close attention to Governor Haslam in the next few years.

It won't just jump up to the top 25, but it would be better for UT-Knoxville to be stronger and more respected nationally then trying to help Martin and Chattanooga keep up.US News ranks UT 51st currently among public schools.
You think if UT-Martin and Volunteer State Community College cough up a little of their piece of the pie, UT will suddenly jump 26 spots in the ranking to number 25?
Seriously, is this the argument?

So your solution is to take the whole 85 million and give it to UT? What will you do with the universities in Chatt and Martin--shut them down?
Where will the students go? UT doesn't have the room for them, and isn't interested in growing the student population that big. And anyway, it would be a net loss, since martin and chatty are getting less per student than UT.
Yes, I agree: better to make UTK excel than to make UTC excel.
But your whole premise is that somehow the state has decided to do the latter. This is flatly not the case! I've never, ever heard anyone make this argument before, and it's ludicrous.
In what way has the state foolishly lavished support on these small schools? Show me that they have, and I'll join you in your crusade to give it back to the flagship.
