Plus PSU and MSU picked this moment in history to start handing out Jimbo Fisher size contracts for “continuing”. Baylor working on the same. Slim pickins out there.View attachment 415234
You contradict yourself right here. How would Riley crush it at UT in the SEC while failing to keep the standard at OU in the SEC? At OU he has to get 1/3 of the top talent of one state to not only compete but dominate, today. At UT he’d have to recruit the entire southeast and to an extent nationally, to hold serve. There’s ZERO resources we have that OU doesn’t have that would elevate his career here; especially not in 4 years when the SEC money rolls into Norman.
Not at all. OU’s recruiting players for Big 12 style ball. There will be a learning curve for them as they adjust to SEC. The only learning curve for Heupel has been getting SEC caliber players in the program. Riley’s recruiting for OU in the SEC will be vastly different than recruiting in the Big 12. This is not contradicting anything.
It’s why Riley taking over a stocked LSU program isn’t a lateral move than staying at OU that has to transition to SEC ball.
I honestly don't get all of the love for Lincoln Riley. Yeah, he's won a lot of games, but he had the program set up for him when Stoops left. That conference is horrible, and what should be his major competition in conference has been inexplicably down for some time. When he faces competition outside of conference in bowl games (1-3 record) or the the playoffs (0-3 record), he doesn't win.
Like I have said, he's won a lot of games. But that conference is weak with Texas being down. Not saying he is a horrible coach by any means, but I question is he worth all of the hype. The postseason record stands out to me. What does he do when he is facing SEC opponents week in and week out?Probably because, and look hear me out but I could be insane, but probably because HE IS 55-10 AND WON FOUR STRAIGHT CONFERENCE TITLES IN THE THIRD TOUGHEST CONFERENCE

Good question that I haven't really thought about. Outside of those guys, I can't really think of any surefire coaches. Maybe Matt Campbell? He's not done it at a high pressure school with expectations. I honestly can't say.Other than Saban and Dabo who would you take over Lincoln Riley? Kirby Smart? Maybe Ryan Day?

Recruiting areas are not going to be that significant when the full NIL kicks in. The schools with the biggest deals are going to get the players. I can see both Texas and Oklahoma improve their recruiting and being a threat to the rest of the SEC.That’s WHY he should jump, IMO. Recruiting would be much better at LSU. With Oklahoma’s roster he could compete, but at LSU he could build a roster that dominates.
Those Big 12 caliber players have been successful against SEC teams recently. Ask Bama, Auburn and FL.
Stick with something like needlepoint.
Yet OU constantly gets blown out of their matchups with the best of the SEC with 1-3 record vs SEC. Maybe you should stick to something like needlepoint dufas
