Little E to Hendrick!

Introducing the all new
"Rainbow Coalition"

Just heard that DEI may trade the 8 to Hendrick for the 5.

Far fetched but who knows.

I am still pissed by the way. Very close to quitting Nascar.

How are the rest of you Diehard Earnhardt fans feeling?? And i am not talking about bandwagon fans, i mean ppl who have followed Big E and Little E for the past 15-20 yrs.

:eek:lol:

i think it's absolutely hilarious that all those people out there wearing red shirts and hats at the races, who continually hate Hendrick and anyone associated with his organization are now going to have to root for that team!!! this is great, i love it.

I am a JR. fan. I wear RED hats and shirts. I will NOT root for JG or JJ!!! What is the point of this idiotic asumption anyway :dunno:

I have been watching NASCAR for as far back as I can remember. Sr. was the best to watch, IMO. I started pulling for Jr. when he came into racing. I do not view this as bad at all. IMO, DEI has been crashing as a company since the day Sr. passed away. I will always be a Jr. fan no matter who the owner is. Fact is, he will have better equipment, better teammates, a much more enthusiastic owner, and more chances to win at HMS. We as Jr. fans owe it to him to support him at what he loves and that is racing and winning. HMS gives him that chance and we all know it.

I was very unhappy about his decision all day. But this evening my dad and I were discussing it and I decided I'm sticking with Jr. Just because he is going to Hendrick doesn't mean I have to like Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, or even Rick "The Crook" Hendrick.

I Don't get it,well he has joined the dark side.:yuck:

Exactly. Jr. will still be Jr., just in a different (better) car with a different (better) team. He seems to really like Rick, and that's all that matters I guess.

Tid you are usually dead on but today................your still dead on:dance2:
I think so too!

11pm last night this was posted. Anyone seen anything to back it up?...
it has been rumored, but the speculation is that Teresa would be hard pressed to give Jr. anything that he wants at this point, even if it is something as simple/easy as this.......

The more I hear Jr. talk the bigger fan I become. He is a real genuine person.

exactly i like him cause he's so laid back and just a good ole country boy. i didn't get into racing but like 3 or 4 years ago. and the 2 i picked to root for is smoke (because he doesn't give a crap and will run u over to win) and jr. (not because of his dad, but because he seemed like someone i could hang out w/ and have a beer)

I don't think she would trade the 8 under any circumstances.

What use is it to her? No driver in his right mind would want to keep that number! She may have to put it on the shelf so she might as well get something for it! If not Jr. could buy 88 from Yates. Thats his Busch number and Yates has been talking about bringing back the 28!

Actually I think their both crazy! New numbers, sponsors and paint schemes mean more $$$$$$$$$$!

Most if not all Jr fans already have all the Bud #8 gear they are gonna have. This way they got to buy all new stuff and wonder how valuable the old stuff will be!

NASCAR.COM - Junior is where he wanted, but didn't think it possible - Jun 13, 2007

"Every time my contract came up, he came to me and never once was there a motive of trying to get me to drive for him," Earnhardt said of Hendrick. "He came to me and said, 'I know you and your sister [adviser Kelley Earnhardt Elledge] are the only two you have. If you need lawyers, if you need any kind of help or whatever to get the deal you want, let me know and I can send some people over and help you and look at your stuff."
"For me, I've always daydreamed about driving for Rick since I started to drive racecars. You have daydreams. It was sort of like when I was a little kid wanting to be a [Washington] Redskin," Earnhardt said. "I guess if I had my choice in a perfect world, he was kind of always in the lead. I wanted to give those other guys an opportunity ... They really wanted to talk to me and I wanted to give them that opportunity to get across the table what they wanted to. I felt like my mind could be changed, or I wouldn't have sat down with them."

Kyle certainly has an interesting take on this turn of events.

Kyle on Wednesday:
"We had been working on a contract extension for me to remain at Hendrick Motorsports, but after prolonged negotiations, we mutually agreed that a fresh start was in order. I have been granted a release after the 2007 season," said Busch
NASCAR.COM - Junior to Hendrick makes Busch the 'No. 1 free agent' - Jun 13, 2007

Kyle on Thursday:
“This is all brand new,” Busch said in an interview on “The Driver’s Seat” on Sirius Satellite Radio. “I haven’t talked or discussed or done anything with any other team.”

“It’s tough,” Busch said. “You look forward to the future, that’s what you have to do. I think we can all make the best of it.

“This is all new to me, and having to do it at age 22 is a little more difficult than it might be if I were older and wiser.”

You know I have mulled this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again in my mind and finally came to the conclusion that this is the best chance he has to win a championship. I may not agree with it and I still don't like Gordon or Johnson, but if Hendrick can help him win I am ALL for it. GO JR!!! I don't think though Hendrick will EVER give up number 5 since that was his number when he was racing.

Now Kyle is back to his original story on Friday.

"We decided it and sat down and talked about things and decided it would be in both of our best interests to get a fresh start," he said Friday in the Michigan International Speedway media center. "I feel like it's a time where I can step away from where I've been for a few years and try to get a fresh start and see what else is out there."
