I can't imagine many. Liberal hippies don't mesh well with peoples from the south.

I actually enjoyed talking with many of the 'liberal hippies' that came out from Cal for their game. They seemed knowledgeable about the game of football, and were not as smug as one would think. I hope Oregon fans are the same, because there will be many invited to stop at our tailgate and talk football and to try our southern fare.

i've never really seen political idealogical differences strongly impair college fanbases from travelling with their team.....now money and distance, that's a completely different story

haha true... sadly.

I would love to see 100k fans yelling at the top of their lungs someday. That would completely deafen the opposing team... and make Neyland Stadium the loudest in all of college football. One can dream...

Ever been to a game? Loud for big games and always will be!! GO VOLS!

UO played at the big house a few years back, but most of this team was still in HS then. My experience is that Neyland is much louder than Michigan. The big house seemed quit for the amount of fans there.

Not sure how many fans will make the trip I know we usally bring 10-15k to big games like this but Oregon is one of the ahrdest hit by the economy right now I thing 11-12% unemployment.

Oh and hey not all of us are liberal hippies, I've been spending the last week bow hunting.

i dont think anyone other than the OP is doubting Oregon knows how to play when a seriously loud crowd is cheering for them.

But... do they know how to handle 104,000 cheering against them, with the smell of Jack Daniel's choking every breath they take?

All kidding aside, are you heading to Neyland? I really want to go to Oregon next year.

I was hoping to make the trip to Neyland but a business trip conflicted. The renovations look really good and I would love to experience a game there in that atmosphere with what seems to be for the most part classy fans. Hopefully the 2 teams will do another home and home series in the future. Autzen is a great stadium with an awesome game day atmosphere and for the most part classy fans. Yes the average attendance is just under 60K but that is a few thousand more than actually seats and Eugene is a small college town with a population of less than 150K

Looking forward to a good game Saturday!

GFD, because you are a classy individual, because you're missing the UT-UO game, and because I am still a firm believer in southern hospitality, I would like to say that you are more than welcome at Neyland Stadium at any time. Try to make it for a UT-UF game, or UT-UGA, if you can.

I, too am looking forward to a good game on Saturday. Hopefully competitive on both sides, and completely injury-free.

Autzen is certainly loud, but I'd play there over Tiger Stadium or the Swamp any time.

Talk to a USC fan, or better yet, just travel to Wearesc for a day. They very well may be the most arrogant, pompous, disrespectful, fan base in all the country.

Ask em what they think about SEC and the south in general, most of em would turn their noses up to even traveling to the south.

Though on second thought, I do very much agree that Oregon fans will interact well with UT fans.

why would we give a damn what they think? West coasters think way too highly of themselves

I didn't say you'd care, look at the conversation. I believe that if USC were to schedule a home and home with UT their fans wouldn't travel for the above reasons.

That rinky dink stadium actually holds ~59,500 counting the SRO area on the North side, has been sold out since 1999 and will soon one day be expanded to at least 65k.

And 127.2 decibels is nothing to lightly dismiss. That's louder than a Boeing 747 at take-off--for the best part of three hours in a tight contest since we are on defense more than most.

Why not just come and hear for yourself in 2013?

It's the proximity of the fans to the field that is killer. It sounds as if they are literally on top of you and the sound reverberates from the artificial turf into the canopy and back. The entire stadium is dug into a earthen hillock. There are no energy sapping features like repeated open air tunnels or other gaps. It's a sunken bowl of concrete sunk into the earth that the crowd enters down into from the rim.

Its a great stadium, and I do not agree with the OP, but its no Neyland.

Cal fans traveled pretty well and the difference is bigger. Pac10 fans can act superior to SEC fans all they want but it just makes you look a little stupid

Cal's fans are vastly different than USC fans. They're a lot more sensible and a lot less elitist.

Whatever. Looks like a high school stadium

Yeah, we'll see how pathetic Autzen is when the Vols have to go there in 2013.

I'm not talking noise,my point was the size of Oregons Stadium, about like Vandy!!There are few college fans in Oregon. What does the other instate team,Oregon State, whats their stadium hold. Both Oregon schools together would not fill Neyland.LOL at Oregon fans,I've been on other football websites and Oregon fans are laughing at Tennessee, saying we're no good.Oregon football should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Tennessee!!
