LOL At Oregon's Stadium!!

What does it hold, over 50,000.That is as small as the SEC's smallest Stadium,Vandy!!LOL at Oregon, they sure are not into college football and very few fans!!

Not surprizing for a small population state and a program which has historically been a doormat on the left coast. 50,000 is ample for an "every now and then" program. Same for the Oregon State program (program?).

Has anyone been to Kentucky's stadium? My neighbor swears it's extremely loud because of the way it's designed. I was surprised. Is this true?

Any time 50 or 60 thousand people are yelling at once, it is going to be loud. Commonwealth is nothing special.

I actually enjoyed talking with many of the 'liberal hippies' that came out from Cal for their game. They seemed knowledgeable about the game of football, and were not as smug as one would think. I hope Oregon fans are the same, because there will be many invited to stop at our tailgate and talk football and to try our southern fare.

This is a video that was posted on youtube by a Cal fan that came to KTown. He posted some nice comments about the atmosphere.

Been there several times. I like it. Nice stadium. But compared to most SEC stadiums, it's not very loud at all.

What a moronic post. From everything I've ever heard, it is a very difficult place to play. Who cares if it seats 5,000 or 5 million for that matter?

I'm not saying a word about how great Autzen or Oregon's facilites are, but I've attached a link and you can go explore for yourselves if you chose. Might actually check out the "MO Center", one audio comment actually mentions this weekends Tennessee game.

Oregon Football Facilities :: Autzen Stadium Quotes

The only comment I'll make is that after I've been to games there, it takes hours for my ears to stop ringing.

What a "moronic" reply to a post. It is very difficult to play in and the Quackers have the intimidating, historical won-loss record to prove it.

That rinky dink stadium actually holds ~59,500 counting the SRO area on the North side, has been sold out since 1999 and will soon one day be expanded to at least 65k.

And 127.2 decibels is nothing to lightly dismiss. That's louder than a Boeing 747 at take-off--for the best part of three hours in a tight contest since we are on defense more than most.

Why not just come and hear for yourself in 2013?

It's the proximity of the fans to the field that is killer. It sounds as if they are literally on top of you and the sound reverberates from the artificial turf into the canopy and back. The entire stadium is dug into a earthen hillock. There are no energy sapping features like repeated open air tunnels or other gaps. It's a sunken bowl of concrete sunk into the earth that the crowd enters down into from the rim.

Jesus..do they not give you any room to breath?

One hell of a stadium, but I like that whole personal space thing.

do you guys have those binoculars that you put the quarter in to watch a game? from that view, you can't see much.

How about an LOL at Tennessee fans. There are lower level tickets still available at the ticket office. That is pathetic!

that pic is a little deceptive, i've watched games from every section over the years and there just isn't a "bad" seat in the house. no obstructed views at all(unless you're sitting behind me) :eek:lol:

Let me know when the Blumpkin Brigade gets here. Alllllllllrighty then.

:eek:lol:

Adrian Peterson shook his helmeted head and slapped his earholes. But the ringing wouldn't stop.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOO..."
As the Oklahoma Sooners stood in the tunnel of Autzen Stadium ready to hit the field, the walls around them vibrated like a tuning fork. The air felt thick with what sounded like a World War I biplane parked under the goalpost 15 yards in front of them.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOO..."
"It was like some sort of crazy torture in the movies. How do people do that so long without taking a breath? I think my ears are still ringing." – Former Oklahoma Running Back, Adrian Peterson in an ESPN article

Great quote by AD.

It's the loudest thing I've ever heard in my life. Active runway loud, for the entire game. I get a pounding headache when the visiting team is on 3rd down inside their own 20.

Folks in Neyland get harassed for standing up during games. Folks in Autzen get harassed for sitting down during games. Yes, even old people.

Watching the student gate open is almost as entertaining as the game itself. I doubt you'll ever see 6,000 kids at a dead sprint at the same time for front row.

TN at OR 2013 is going to be great.

Gee, let's look at the facts: Over the past decade they are 51-13 at home. That's better than Auburn, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Alabama, Pitt, etc. So yes, I would say that it is a difficult place to play in.

What kind of an idiot judges a team by the stadium they play in?

where are you getting that statistic? they're home record is worse than Cal, USC, and Oregon State over the past 8 years.

To be fair, after their early successes in the earlier parts of the decade, the Ducks weren't really "good" again until the latter parts of the decade.
