Their results against some opponents speak “Caution, Will Robinson.” I think we win easily, but they might offer more resistance than we like.

This is always how it goes in March. Everybody has something to play for, and that especially true for some of these smaller programs. You can go home in a hurry if you decide to go auto pilot in any tournament game.

Which results say that to you? This was an earlier post

Interesting tid-bit: The conference Longwood plays in, DJ Burns was named the player of the year.

We do have a few common opponents:

Tennessee 86 vs Presbyterian College 44

Longwood 71 vs Presbyterian College 70

Tennessee 96 vs USC Upstate 52

Longwood 85 vs USC Upstate 72

Longwood 79 vs USC Upstate 70

By simply looking at common opponent you've got to think we are 25-30 points better.

Hopefully they don't have a 100 year old wheelchair bound nun on the sideline or a similar feel good storyline

Bumping this as I’d also like to know. We’d play as well as Kentucky-Murray St/San Fran.

I would say we'll almost certainly get the afternoon game, since Kentucky is also in Indianapolis and they'll put that in primetime. If CSU were to win, I'd venture to guess it's a 12:00 PM EST start or 2:45 PM EST start again. Michigan winning would draw better ratings, so that might give us a later start. It's all about the matchup.

Up until about 25 years ago Longwood College was an "All-Girls" school. So, it's no wonder that they don't have much of a sports history (And that nobody knows who they are). -- No offense, ladies......

We can only guess as to the Saturday game time.
What we do know is that Kentucky is in the same city, and we can assume they’ll get the later tip time.
the typical 2nd round schedule is to have 1 game at noon and then the other game from that site right after it, with no other games going on. Then after those 2 games, the other 3 sites start kicking in starting at around 5:00.
the other thurs-sat locations are Buffalo, Portland, and Fort Worth. Portland obviously won’t start up at noon and I doubt Fort Worth does either. So you have Buffalo or Indy. If it’s Indy I bet we start off the day. That gives Kentucky a solo time slot at 2:45. Or they could start the day in Buffalo with Iowa-Providence or Arkansas-UConn, giving Kentucky a prime time slot. But it’s just a guess at this point.

So how does a #5 in final polls only get a 3 seed?
Either way, we gonna whoop some A.
Prediction: Final 4 - Kentucky beats Gonzaga and Tennessee beats Bruce Pearls team. Then we gonna whoop KY Jelly for the Natty.
We got this!!

Go VOLS

Thursday can’t get here soon enough. After yesterday and a championship…..I can’t wait to see more BB.

I know their a good 3 shooting team; however some of that could simply be from who they faced and the D they have faced.

I’m sure their still good at the 3 but Tennessee should overwhelm them with defense. Can’t wait to see how it pans out.

Same conference that produced Winthrop - who took us to the wire and we escaped with a Lofton shot at the buzzer a few years back. You cannot sleep on any team. A bad whistle coupled with a bad shooting night and you go home a 14 v 3 upset victim - and we were a 2 seed that year…

Plus if they get on a roll it suddenly becomes a hostile, away game-like crowd pulling loudly for the underdog.

So Longwood beat out Winthrop in that same conference with former Vol DJ Burns and former ETSU grad Patrick Good. Wonder what happened to Winthrop, they are usually at the top of that conference.

Drew Pember was also the defensible player of the year I’m the same conference.

I used to ball out on the outside courts, that used to be right on Texas Ave. Now, I wasn't from there, but I had a lot friends from there. So, I've been to a couple Lonsdale Homecomings, now that was a party

The Lamar Street gym had some bad ass mofos back in the day.

Deane Hill Recreation Center would draw in high level talent from all over town. It still might. I haven’t been there for years.
