Longwood starters/scoring avg.
Robert Staff 20 pts avg
Dick Flank 19pts
Harry Johnson 8pts
Bill Harder 5pts
Hugh Jungett 4pts

Where are you finding this info?

I’m seeing:
Hill 14.2 points
Wilkins 12.8 points
Wade 11.9 points

The Lamar Street gym had some bad ass mofos back in the day.

Deane Hill Recreation Center would draw in high level talent from all over town. It still might. I haven’t been there for years.
I have never played pick-up games at Lamar Street, but I have played 100s of rec league games from like 10-18 years of age, there. Played a couple of rec league tournaments at Deane Hill, but once again, no pick-up games

They had a big uprising on their staff and decided to go with a bigger lineup.

Lol

Didn’t even read the names just noticed the scores.

I had seen their stats yesterday and saw no one scored more than 14.

I thought for a minute I looked at some other team.

no worries.
Longwood doesn’t scare me.
All we have to do is stay loose and not tighten up when they come hard at us.
They really like to take it inside. But Fulky and Plav will just swat it down their throats.

FWIW, you may remember former Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerome Kersey, who started for some of their really good teams in the late 80's and early 90's with Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. He played his college ball at Longwood. He is the one and only player they have ever had who has ever started in an NBA game.

Here's your Longwood scout

I remember watching Isaiah Wilkins at Virginia Tech. You'll see him hitting shots here. He did the same in the ACC. A legit P5 player.

This one may not be that easy. Yes I understand the level of play, but they aren't a bunch of scrawny dudes out there. They got some beef, they are pretty athletic and they've been on a roll for a few months.

Just don't be all pissy if don't completely blow them out. They aren't awful.

According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, Longwood was under the impression that the NCAA would be flying them to Indy tomorrow morning (Tuesday) but they recently were told by the NCAA that they would not be flying for at least another 24 hours which pushes their time of departure to around 7-8 pm tomorrow night. Seems like Longwood will be arriving late and will only get one full day before the game Thursday. Might not be a big deal but it definitely will affect their preparation process.

**Longwood is not the only team affected by this. Colorado State is getting shafted by the NCAA and still haven’t heard any word on how or when they will be arriving in Indy. They play the first game of the tournament Thursday. Check out Matt Norlander’s Twitter page and he has all the details. Michigan will be playing a jet lagged CSU team early Thursday.

I used to ball out on the outside courts, that used to be right on Texas Ave. Now, I wasn't from there, but I had a lot friends from there. So, I've been to a couple Lonsdale Homecomings, now that was a party
Same here bud. I played football for Rule, from hoppers through middle school.
Plenty of time spent in the dale.😁
GBO!!

Thanks for the link. They appear to have a couple of good outside shooters and good motion to their offense. Defense travels so hopefully we will bring ours and make their life’s tougher than Winthrop as it appeared Longwood did whatever they wanted in that game. Based on that video I wouldn’t think it will be a 30 point blow out

Thanks for sharing that. They are definitely dangerous from the outside, and have upset potential if they get really hot. However, hot shooting teams tend to see their numbers go way down when they face our defense. We shouldn’t take them lightly, by any means.

On another note, DJ Burns looks a lot more skilled than I expected him to be. I know part of that is the competition, but he seems to have a pretty good post-up game and good court awareness. He might’ve been a liability on defense though, so perhaps that’s why he left.

Idk how Michigan is even in the tournament, let alone a favorite. They are the type of team that could get run 9ut of the gym by anyone. I'd love to play them. Automatic win.

Michigan is prone to some truly awful basketball, but they are not an automatic win. This team has a few really good wins, and they have a lot of underutilized talent. I would argue that Michigan is the more skilled team, they have just been incapable of showing it. Our R32 matchup isn’t going to be easy regardless of who we play.

Serious question - is there any of the 68 fan bases who are 100% confident in a first round victory. The low seeds just won a conference tourney and are probably on a roll. Guess that’s why the first weekend of March Madness is so exciting!

Lol. If the Longwood Lancers basketball team is anything like their childish social media team, they're in for a complete ass whooping Thursday.

Thats what concerns me. Way to many Vol fans on this site taking them for granted. I wouldn't take any team for granted this time of year.
I'm certainly taking Longwood for granted. Should be a 30 point victory. Maybe on a neutral court in their first appearance they are able to cut it just under a 20 point loss.

Hopefully we are able to put in some of our deep bench by the early 2nd half
