looks like Jazmine is leaving

UK was pretty damn good last year, and they'll be better next year. They beat Tennessee by 21 points. If they're not a good team, I'd hate to hear what you think about Tennessee.

Not sure what you saw to come up with that assessment of Jaz, but it wasn't last season. Tennessee hasn't had a great half court offense for years, but without Jaz it would have been goddawful. She also could get into the paint for a pull up jumper at will. If anything, she didn't look to score enough.

KY won by 4 points the first time we played them last season. The other two times.....we were not playing well. But Kentucky won't be as good this next season. You're very generous in your assessment of Jazz. I see nothing exciting about her play. Glad she's gone to make way for a better player.

She might do well at Kentucky, which is really not a very good team except for Howard.
She was not known for her drives to the basket, more of a pass it into the post approach....I'm tired of talking about the girl that bad mouthed our coach on her way out of here....

She gave Kellie a chance.....bla...bla...bla....

Enough already with this girl....Move on guys...
Thanks for the advice, but no, I have more questions. But you, of course, are welcome to quit talking about it. After you answer this question: what girl that bad mouthed our coach? Are we conflating Evina and Jaz? BC Jaz was very complimentary of KJH and the staff? Why are we making up things about players who leave?

Also, to the poster who says KY is not a very good team, then what does that make us? They absolutely rolled us last time we played.

Jas didnt want to stay , but when you make interview statements like ' I gave Coach Harper a chance ' lead me to reflect upon who is speaking and are you 'all that'.
It also lead you into Jas pre-meditated thoughts and intents. Yes, you gave her a chance but she gave you plenty. Kellie gave YOU a bench player, a starting role and a starting point guard role at that. She incorporated her point guard knowledge into YOU. Something Holly didn't do.
She pampered YOU before she catered to a number two AA. One thing I do know is , if Westbrook , Hayes and Green ( wasnt injuried)) ) YOU wouldn't have been UT starting point guard.
Let's all get real on this , A/T ratio are not developed in the backyard or alone. Kellie.
Remember those monster rebounding games ? Kellie and staff.
Four things Kellie done to achieve success here right off the bat. One, to make Zaay her principal scorer and threat. Two, Sugar Rae her sixth man and tool box.
Three, Davis as the senior leader and silent assassin .
Four , Jas as her 'mini me' and staple.
With the exception of Zaay's injury, It still worked.
IT WORKED. The Ladies had good chemistry and blah blah blah.
And then notice Jas lack of effort , why Rennia had Jordan ' under her wing' instead of You.
It would have been really difficult for YOU to go to Kentucky and to be with Howard and the rest, if YOU
as the starting point was doing it with a team that was enjoying success with its first year coach replacement.
SO YOU gave less effort , regressed , stop rebounding , stop finding players at their spots, stop being what CJH
blessed YOU with . I SAW YOU on court acting like you wanted to be elsewhere or playing with anyone else.
I saw you rise under Kellie and then purposely harness your potential and teaching to serve your pre-mediated intents. 'Me....me...me ..me 'was how another poster posted. Don't make like you was giving Kellie a chance, Superstar. You knew what you was going to do before the season started, never counted on your teammates or success to excel . Hope it was worth it. I saw you... I saw you do it to make it easier to go thru the portal.
Come on everyone , don't be naive to sports players , even on the college level.

wow where’d you see that interview? Did anyone else hear her say that? Not doubting you I’m just in shock for a player to say that when her numbers increased drastically and she actually looked like she belonged in the SEC.

If Kellie is the reason or even part of the reason she improved im excited to see what she will do with Jordan when given the chance.

PS I saw some posts of Jordan working out in her house.

I'll also say that Horston is a better PG, better player than Jazz.

and it led to a post from Tess working out in a gym
I believe more will follow

There's a video of it on Margo's FB group. She did say, "I gave Kellie a chance" in response to the interviewer asking if she transferred because of all the changes to the program. She followed it up with saying that Kellie was a great coach and the Tennessee staff was great, but it was different from before and she decided to look for a change, and how excited she was to be playing with Rhyne and Treasure.

Seriously, if anyone took offense to what she said, they were probably going to be offended even if she said nothing.

WTeverlovingF? She actually did give Kellie and staff a chance. She stayed and played last year right? Everyone who stayed, unlike Mimi and Evina, did. Jaz gave them a fair chance, they gave her one, they parted on good terms. For saying so Jaz is a bad guy?

This is almost as long a stretch as the vilification of Evina for the mumbled answer to a question designed to get her to say something controversial. Holy Cow, these kids have zero chance around here.

Thank you. Understood I just hadn’t seen anything.

What is “different than before”🤔 I wonder if Kellie is more of a strict coach with strict demands? That line makes me think that there may be some things this coaching staff is shaking up...

Well with Evina you got to remember it wasn’t just “around here” the national media had some things to say about her too and they weren’t all homers. I don’t like seeing any athlete bad mouthed but after they are gone I don’t worry about how they perform unless it’s against us. Wish them the best but worry about the ones we still have.

We heard it was Lacey, but by all means, YES. I've said before, whoever helped Jaz last summer is hopefully quarantined with Jordan right now, inside a gym. Not to be overly dramatic, but it appears our success in the immediate future will depend on it.

I have to say I'm surprised how many felt Jaz was in Jordan's way. So much for my theory of what a promising duo they made, complimenting each others strengths. I hope to be proven wrong in my thinking that JH best position is off guard, not point.

Heard from where it was Lacey? That’s awesome regardless. Lacey also worked with Dungee and Tofree and I think she had a hand in getting Ramirez to Arkansas. If so I think she will start working her recruiting magic soon and good on Kellie for hiring her!

I mean, you could read it any # of ways, including ways that could conceivably reflect positively OR negatively on the coaching staff. From the flow of the interview, it just seemed like Jaz was acknowledging what the interviewer asked her wrt the "changes" in the program. If he hadn't led with that statement, who knows ..maybe she wouldn't have paraphrased him? She seemed like a good person, and it's a shame that people are tearing her down like this instead of just acknowledging that she wanted to play somewhere else. It seems that her motivation is that she wants to play with her old teammates 🤷‍♂️

I was bothered. Oh yeah, coach was great... Staff was great but different from...uh... from Holly sorry butt . But I'm going to play with my cousin and other buds. Decided this during the season.

Going to have to give you the vague, "Someone on the board said . . ." answer. Because that's all I remember. I started asking what in the world happened to Jaz (in a good way) by midseason, hoping the formula could be repeated. Someone said Lacey. It got my attention bc truthfully, its the biggest offseason improvement I remember by an LV in a long, long time. Frankly I questioned how Jaz got a schollie her first year. Something went right, let's do it again!

I think any kid who went thru that painful slow death last season with CHW should be given special dispensation for leaving. If ever there was a hardship situation, that was it. Maybe the PTSD from that just couldn't be overcome by KJH and the new situation. Espec with her buds all gathered up on a better team. At least she tried, rather than booking immediately. Why aren't we mad at MiMi btw? Hell she went to Cruela herself, Brenda Frese!

Ya'll are seriously like irrational jilted lovers.

That’s totally cool I think athletes should play where they want with who they want. They get this college experience once so hopefully they’re happy in doing so.

I don’t like seeing the two of you go at it like this; and Lucy can certainly defend herself if she’s so inclined.
You wanted another coach! And he might have been great for the Lady Vols. And, I see you as one of the brightest basketball minds on this forum. But, you take EVERY opportunity to tell us the latest about your boy, Walz. We get it!
I think Lucy is as relieved as I am that you can FINALLY put his picture back in the front of your wallet ...at least until next season.
Cheers, Darth!
Hey K! Thanks for the good thoughts. No need for defense, I thought DV and I were having a little tongue in cheek smack talk session. I mean come on, Beavis and Butthead! Comedy gold! But, he obviously didn’t see it that way. Like emails, these posts are lacking in their ability for nuance. Picture in wallet....priceless!
Stay well all Lady Vol fans of good will!!

Biggest off season upgrade was Meme Jackson and Coach Jumper.
Biggest off season improvement....MeMe Jackson and Coach Jumper.

You all are too busy fighting among yourself to see the big picture. From the looks of it there has been some behind the scenes tampering going on........think about this.....what has transpired and who all is now at Kentucky. This aint hard.

Mi Mi was more Holly than UT. Always got heated whenever Holly was attacked by anyone. It wasn't surprising when Holly was terminated, Collins wasn't far behind. There are four players who transferred that have no honor In my sight.
Brewer, Wiley-Gatewood , Westbrook ,and Massengill .

I can’t believe we are talking about Evina again but there is something that always struck me as odd there. Does anyone else remember a video interview of Evina shortly after she signed or enrolled I can’t remember exactly. The interviewer asks her about the recruiting process and on campus visits. She says at that time that she wasn’t strongly considering Tennessee but got on campus and then ended up signing. In addition to the kind of impulsive sound of her decision she had kind of an odd expression like, wow, did this just happen. She did not seem upset, more surprised at her own decision. I know the situation went downhill from there. Holly trying to save her job, nagging injury etc. I am not at all saying she didn’t give it her all and I want any young person to be happy (this does obviously not include Geno whom I hope has poison ivy and hemorrhoids.......at the same time) but I have always wondered if she had a bit of buyers remorse from day one. No criticism of Evina whom I really liked but wondered if any one else saw that interview or felt that unease.
Shoot, I meant to put this on the ESPN thread!

Do you agree with ESPN that Evina is top 10. I was a fan of hers and think she's pretty good, but that's stretching it a bit ...

She was easily our best talent when she was here, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't scare me to think what Geno can do with her. But it's fair to call her listing in the top 10 premature until we see if she's recovered physically, and more importantly what's going on between her ears (which is really what's held her back)...
