Yeah, how can you expect someone to compete with Cadillac programs like Utah State, San Jose State, and Idaho? I'm amazed the Saints haven't considered ditching Sean Payton and hiring Dooley.

This is becoming a pattern with you guys. You love to ignore whatever doesn't support your argument. Nevermind that Dooley beat all of those teams at least once -- all of them his first year alone in addition to Mississippi State, Fresno State, had to play Boise St every year, Cal, Ole Miss, LSU, Kansas and Auburn and was fighting in a boxing match with both hands tied behind his back his final year.

But you're so much smarter than all of us you know for 100% certainty that he's going to fail.

I don't blame you for not liking the hire, but to predict doom at a point which you really sound stupid doing so is a poor choice.

By your logic, a guy who fails miserably at a low level of competition deserves a shot at a higher level because they haven't failed there yet. That's like elevating a retard governor to the presidency. Oh, wait. We did that. Look how well that turned out.

Im trying to figure out your logic...you say he will fail here because of his previous record/doings at La. Tech...but was Chaney, Hiestand, Smith, Baggett, Wilcox and others at La. Tech with him?

CDD is never going to be a OC/DC/Head Coach...so I don't think anyone is arguing his X/O's ability...he has done his job so far as a head coach with putting a stellar staff together and we will see how this recruiting class turns out, along with game management and preparation for '10

If UT gets needs and finishes inside the top 15 of recruiting...Dooley will win here in a few years...

I hope like hell Dooley has an 7+ win season this year. Would love to rub some of this "psychic ability" b.s. in a bunch of these morons faces.

So not only did Dooley fail as a coach, but he sucked as their AD as well? That makes me feel better.

You can't be serious. That's the weakest and lamest angle one could possibly take on this. It's a knock on Dooley that LA Tech doesn't generate a lot of revenue? When he was there for 2 years? And their best sport is football, at which they are historically abysmal? Wow.

I'm pretty sure a winning record trumps a losing record and I'm absolutely certain the Big 8 was a Hell of a lot better than the WAC. Also, was Johnson's last year at Ok State an abject disaster?

Yea! 2 loses would almost certainly be to Nebraska and Oklahoma

And Kansas, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas State and Colorado were all power houses in those days, just like they are now

This was well before him. They have been up and down in that conference well before Dooley was there. What Dooley did there is by no means a bad or good mark on his coaching, IMO. I don't think Nick Saban could win there consistently, IMO.

I didn't realize that knowing hiring the line cook from McDonald's with a health score of 40 to run the Copper Cellar corporation is a recipe for disaster constituted "psychic ability."

But what if he has a lot of heart and loves the Copper Cellar?

LOL at percentages and ratios of "talent to heart" needed. In what unit does one measure "heart?" Or talent, for that matter?

Bradshaws?

"Reveiz has a slower than desirable 40 time, but clocks in with a mind-blowing .873 Bradshaws."

Talent can only take you to a point where hard work starts to make you the best. Heart is a huge component in that. Steve Smith from the Panthers comes to mind.

Tell me, did Dooley have a Thompson, Chaney, Hiestand, Wilcox, or Smith on staff at La. Tech? Did the big time recruits even look at La. Tech? Dear God man, give the guy a chance before u bash him. I'm not saying he is the next Neyland, but you have no reason at all to put him down. He embraces the traditions we have here and will work hard. If he fails, he fails, but take it easy on him and show some d**n decency. Nice way to make the football coach at your own school feel welcome man, nice.

Translation: "My claims to fame are that my father rode Herschel Walker's coattails to being the most overrated coach in SEC history and my mother is a loudmouthed Paula Deen wannabe. I couldn't stay ahead of Idaho in the WAC. So, I'll dumb down expectations regarding recruiting by playing to the orange overall wearing clowns who think "heart" trumps talent. That way, I can make it seem the mediocre rosters I assemble are the result of design and not rank incompetence."

What do you want CDD to do? Would you have preferred him to come into this coaching job and make unrealistic expectations that could never be accomplished, or come in and do what he is doing and really break the program down and determine what it needs to build a better future. He is only relaying the truth about what is going on right now. Dooley will win games here, you can count on that. Don't be butt hurt because Kiffin is gone. Put a stopper in it and support the coach that YOUR university decided to hire. If it doesn't work out in the end, than it doesn't work out. You constantly complaining about it now and for the next couple of years isn't going to change a thing. I'll tell you this though, if things don't work out people aren't going to think you are any smarter for what you are saying now. You will just be remembered as a troll.
