Love this Dooley quote

With enough time to post 41,000 times you do not strike me as someone who has is wildly successful at life any ways... Thanks for the translation though...

Ha!

That's awesome.

One of the guys who all they do is bi*** and whine about how miserable the program is so they can ignore how crappy their life is. I like this guy.
:eek:lol:

Hat is anything but miserable, I can assure you of that. You may not agree with him much, but he's a great guy to have a beer with and shoot the breeze. Good guy, IMO.

Gary Crowton went 21-13. Not exactly Earth shattering. He only had one decent year, where he had 1 more win than Dooley did his second year at La. Tech. He went 6-5, 9-2, 6-6 during his time there.
21-13 beats the Hell out of 17-20. Crowton had no nonwinning seasons in three. How did Dooley do on that front?

If my life's crappy, you've got real problems.

I think Dooley is doing a decent job and saying all the right things, but I will save my judgment on him as a Coach until after next season, I do believe Dooley surrounded himself around some pretty solid Asst. Coaches, only time will tell.

I also think heart is a key component to a player, but unfortunately heart will not win games week in and week out in the S.E.C.

Dooley also had to compete with national champion LSU for the homegrown talent in the area. It's not like every 18 year old kid is beating down the door of LA Tech just begging to get in.

Hat,
You are already the Grand Overlord of Mt. Doom. There really isn't a higher level to reach for and throwing fesces from up there won't win many converts.
With that said who should we have hired that would have accepted? Asking this in seriousness because while your feces chucking is entertaining it gets stale. Since you obviously like being the center of attention and DD's career here will be brief it will give you a longer term item to discuss.

Compared to his competition at this level, it's no upgrade. Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Auburn will still have better players and, in the case of the first two, vastly superior coaching staffs.

Here you go again, a staff that Dooley has hired that has had success in the pros and college "will not gel well". Wow man, just wow.

Need I remind you nobody was talking about recruiting players with heart last year with the previous staff.

You're right. I keep forgetting the huge recruting base Idaho has. How could Dooley be expected to stay ahead of that?

Sure doesn't act like it.

?

No problems. Just better stuff to do.

Just thought the point Rev brought up was pretty funny.

But go ahead and return to predicting the future for us.

How many conference titles and BCS bowl appearances does this staff have in total? Who succeeded in the pros? Chaney did well enough to get run the Hell out of St. Louis and back into the college game. Oh, I forgot. Chuck Smith was the assistant defensive line coach for the Jets. Awesome resume.

Hat, I respect your basketball knowledge man but I think you are wrong on this one. I will be the first one to "b"itch about his coaching if UT hasn't improved in 2 years, however, give this guy a shot before you jump to conclusions.

He couldn't because he's the incompetent coach that Saban kept around out of pity. Like you said Saban's a great coach and that's what great coaches do, keep mental midgets on their staff. It's why DD kept Chaney because he knew Chaney was Kiffin's mental midget.

You seem to be enamored with the Vandals. Maybe we should have hired the many top-notch coaches that were banging down our door. Oh, wait...

As of right now, Science hasnt figured out how to pull a coach out of Barry Switzers ass, so I guess everyone will be sub-par in your eyes.

What is this idea that I have to give a failed coach from a jerkwater conference a shot? I don't. I'm not going to. It took three years too long to get Fulmer ousted because people sat back and said "give him a chance to turn it around." That's not a mistake I see any benefit in repeating.

None or you wouldn't have asked.

Agreed because your ranting to date has proven very beneficial in our selection process. If we hired DD this time think who we will hire next time if you don't rachet things up!

Sorry, but there is only one CLK and he didn't want us anymore. Even though he is the only one on earth with the ability to turn our program around the "right way" by recruiting ruffians and mouthing off.

Hat I usually agree with you, and I agree with you that heart does not = BCS titles, but man you got to give these guys a chance. Smith is young and has mentored some pretty solid players in the league. Chaney does have a proven track record in CFB, nobody could have won in St. Louis with that team. Wilcox has done some impressive things with Boise State against solid opponents. Baggett has an EXCELLENT resume.

They are the Coaches and us complaining will not change anything. At least see what these Coaches do next year before we start predicting their resignation dates.
