LSU fans getting cocky after Pitt lost to Ga Tech

Has Pitt really been the same since we wrecked their QBs?

He missed the next game and they threw very little in the last game vs Rhode Island before Ga Tech. The Pitt defense held GA Tech for 10 straight possessions without a point yet lost the game. That's almost impossible to do.

I honestly think Pitt and Florida were huge physchological pshychologistical tests for this team that we passed considering Pitt beat us the year before and won the ACC and Florida just being Florida.

I feel like our team will have gained enough confidence now to just go out there and play and not be scared nor nervous of/about anyone.

No. We got lucky that they hired their version of Butch Jones as coach. Going for it on 4th down and not kicking a FG inside the 30 in the first quarter? Going for 2? getting a penalty with us inside the 1 and giving us a fresh set of downs?
You folks need to realize that our offense is top shelf but our D is still well below SEC standards. We play even margin teams and we get exposed. Great coaching can't completely compensate for bad individual efforts.
So what do you think our record will be this year? Since we will get exposed by margin teams we shouldn’t win a game besides Ut martin and vandy the rest of the way

And when they did air it out a little Slovis moved the ball easily.

They went on two quick touchdown drives in the last couple minutes because they stopped trying to force the run game.

Narduzzi is a fool.

Understood. But beating a team due to a lucky break like an injury doesn't make you better, just luckier. I get that sometimes you have to "make your own luck". But as I said, the Pitt team hung on with a backup QB that was a steep drop off in talent from the starter. If we didn't have that lucky break, we would likely be lamenting another year of dropping the game to Pitt. A win is a win but before putting your money on a game, you better take into account the facts.
I never bet on anything, and especially sports.

Playing a team that just fired their coach at their stadium is a trap game. Hard to really gauge too much about that loss. Its a fluke. Think LSU fans are desperately trying to make themselves feel better going into this game..
I watched the Pitt-GT game and had the same thoughts, but if you go wattch that game Pitt thoroughly outplayed GT. But Tech was in a dangerous spot having just seen the coach who recruited them get fired and wanting to show the world they wouldn't rollover. There was a play in the 4th quarter where it looked like the RB was tackled for a loss, but the whole team pushed the pile 11 yards for a 1st down.

I do think some of our fans are overly ambitious this season. The roster is nowhere near good enough yet, we have a coach who is out-coaching the competition but I see no way this team doesn't lose ateast 2 games, including maybe one we shouldn't.

We lose to AL and GA. We lose to either LSU or Kentucky. We go to a bowl game against someone like Penn St. Can't decide if we win. Depends on how many players sit out the bowl game for the NFL.

Agree. But if that is true then they should VERY seldom lose a game they shouldn't lose and should win some they shouldn't, right?

I think 9-3 was the likely mark at the beginning of the season. My expected losses were UGA, Bama, and UF/LSU. All due to the opponent having more talent on the whole. But Hooker and the O are proving to be an "equalizer" of that overall talent deficiency. I'm still concerned about LSU... but a good bit more hopeful than I was. I still think UGA is a pretty long stretch. Bama still a stretch but they haven't played well on the road so I feel the chances are a little better than I thought.

LSU fans’ anger is just a sign of fear. I don’t know for sure who will win, but I think the fear button has been going off in programs around the SEC concerning Tennessee’s long-awaited market correction.
UT's statistical results from games this season, compared to LSU's, produce a 67% probability that Tennessee wins this game by at least 4pts. 28-24.

However, I think the score will be more like 45-37 Vols.

Seriously. I never want to see Heupel let up ever again here like he did against Florida end of game. That was some Fulmer style letting up that almost costed us.
Get the lead, keep the lead and DO NOT let up and DO NOT look ahead this week. I think CJH may be able to make these adjustments, unlike his predecessors.

We are gonna torch them

We are the number one offense in the country yall.

Auburn is ranked 80th in total offense and they carved LSU up for 438 yards!

Auburn is especially bad at passing the ball. Ashford had 337 yards connecting on 19/37 passing. He only had 127 against Missouri....and that was the most Auburn had all year.

Hooker is gonna do whatever the hell he wants.

Coming off a bye week too? Sheesh. Goodluck Tigahs

Check out this Tiger rant thread:

https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/lsu-sports/not-impressed-by-tennessees-schedule/104564989/

What they don't acknowledge is Florida still beat a top 10 team and mentally as well emotionally is easily our biggest win since we beat them in 2016.

These are the worst fans in the SEC who have made it their mission to slander Tony V as much as possible all across the internet. I want this win by multiple scores more than you could believe.

Tiger fans get "catty" or drunk. USCe fans get "cocky" or embarrassed.

Week to week performance against common opponents means less this season than I can ever remember. Team performance for many programs has been downright schizophrenic

Pitt is a very schizophrenic program. They won 11 games and lost to Western Michigan last year. Losing to GT is pathetic, but I think the players for GT had quit on their coach and wanted him gone. Getting blown out 42-0 by a mediocre, one dimensional Ole Miss squad means you have quit, to me. Now that he’s been sh*t canned, they are clearly competing even if they’ll struggle to make a bowl.
