Not trying to make any new waves, but if anybody with any sense that was negotiating about when and where to play this game in the light of the devastation created by Katrina would have come to the conclusion that it would have been in the best interest of ALL concerned to swap the home and home sites for this game. If intelligence and concern for the dilemma faced in Louisiana were brought to bear, Rita would not be a factor...

Old, you need to stop reading news reports.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

Baton Rouge was able to accomdate UT fans before Rita. There were hotel rooms to fit enough UT fans. Not everyone but enough.

Thus, before this week it was able to have the game.

So to think they should move it before this Hurricane is a joke.

How do I know? I live right around here.

The joke IMO is that UT fans want to find any excuse not to have it in BR so they play the Katrina card in their favor.

This game being on Monday is a good idea.

Baton Rouge will be fine from Rita

I still think the simplest thing to do would have been to swith home and home to Knoxville first and Baton Rouge next year. It's perfectly fair for both sides. But the LSU administration was so determined to have their damn "Saturday night tradition" as if they are the only team that ever plays night games.

No, they just wanted the game in BR and had the ability to do it.

Actually what I said is correct because they said that over and over. Your back must be very soar tonight, because you are carrying a lot of water for LSU...maybe you should join all those morbid people in their threads.

I hear ya U_T. Since you're closer to the devastation that occured in the New Orleans area I will defer to your thoughts on the matter. All I'm saying is it's too bad the powers that be couldn't have taken the extreme misfortune Katrina caused for the inhabitants in your neck of the woods into consideration and let a mere football game become a secondary thought. If the good folks of Louisiana feel that the Volunteer Nation is only interested in gaining some sort of advantage by changing venues for this year, I apologize for the misunderstanding and would like to say that I personally hope for the best for all victims of this disaster..

I hate to spread doom and gloom but I'm not so sure this game will be played Mon night. This is not a little rain storm that will blow through Texas and La. A lot of people are missing the ramifications of the hurricane for want to see the game.

It appears it will come ashore somewhere not too far from the two state-lines. It's also 300 mi WIDE---that covers well into the BR area.

It's also being reported it's going to stall somewhere close to the state-lines, swirl winds and rain for quite a while. After all this, you have damage to contend with in both states. BR might very well find itself, again, in the "staging area role", for damage and survivors of the Southern Louisiana Coastal Area.

Just because the SEC says there's going to be a game, does not make it so. Let's be optimistic but also realize what this hurricane is presenting us. Bigger forces are at play here than the SEC.

I've lived in LA for several years, and trust me, most of them are too stupid to get out of the rain, much less a hurricane.

Freak:

You need to return to the dorm and watch the weather reports. If you do not want to do that--then head over to the library and educate yourself about metorology and such. Your age and immaturity are showing.

The game will be played sometime and outcome will be then and only then. The only "whoopin" issued will probably be adminstered by Ms. Rita---she's the hurricane headed your way in case you missed the entire point of my previous post.

When ya get to the library--look up Lake Charles, La. That's where the hurricane is coming in. If you still do not UNDERSTAND, HURRICANE, then find a dictionary and look under H.

Good GOD, I thought Florida fans were crybabies. This takes the cake.

I'm glad LSU fans have their priorities in order.

"Mah House might get blowed away, but I want to see mah Tigahs play on Saturday night!"

This cute little thing you posted is a symbol for.. oh well if you don't know then maybe you ain't gay (here's hoping that's the explanation). It's also interesting that the SEC is moving the game to Monday because of the hardship to the LSU fans??? Must be a day in the park for Tennessee fans to come into a hurricane ravaged area..
