I can understand the shopping for dollars part but a kid doesn’t have to travel all the way to Knoxville to hear a number. That just doesn’t make sense.

no idea who that is but there is real interest. he switched his visit schedule to come here first. we'll see if he ends up a Vol but this guy doesn't know what he's talking about on this one.

With a second transfer pretty much a easy get now, is a multi year player still a big deal? Mincey being a prime example. Yeah, odds are that we'd be able to keep most, there are bound to be those once a portal guy always a portal guy. Especially those who likely won't make the NFL. Grabbing the cash while they can.

I wouldn't just make an offer to a player without meeting him in person. Makes perfect sense to me.

I’m guessing perceived value for the NFL. However if you suck at LT but are decent at RT, isn’t your value better at RT than LT? These kids need to trust the coaches they play for more than they do.

These kids are trusting their handler or family members more than coaches, which isn't biased at all-lol. Besides, they have their hand out wanting a portion too. What could go wrong with that? I believe that is a big problem with several of them and their inflated value.

-We don’t chase high profile bidding wars.
-We don’t upset current guys to pay big to new guys.

Our track record says we aren't gonna do the bidding war thing. There's a whole package to consider and the kids that are money first, and I don't 'know' that this kid is one of them, we haven't shown the willingness to get more involved than what our valuation says.

So in that regard, I'm not sure what 'must get' means.

Three only guy we've done that on is Nico apparently.
