Lunardi's latest: Vols one of last four in

We can still make the tournament with one more loss. We'd have to win in the SEC tournament. But we'd be right on the bubble.

Win out plus 1 in the SEC T and we're easily in IMO

We have been a bubble team all season just some folks are in complete denial.

No one is in denial- they are simply providing what national guys are saying. No one on this board is making this stuff up. UT is still in many brackets. Now, will that be the case after 6 more games? Who knows? Unless you can predict the future.

before the formula was changed, Oklahoma was 33 and was left out.

Correct, and when the field used to be 40 there's probably more examples of better RPIs being left out. However the field is now 68, so since it's been 68, what's the best high major RPI to be left out?

You and Gonzo.
Hahahahahaha that's the funniest thing I've seen in a while!

I could be wrong, but in my quick research...the worst RPI teams to get left out the last 2 years that were high majors...Kentucky last year RPI of 56 and Ole miss the year before with a RPI of 58.

I have them assumed out, if that makes sense. They're 4-8 in conference, have been horrible lately, and have 2 possible more losses coming with no smart.

They're trending down rapidly is maybe a better word/phrase, as of now they're still in, but I don't see that sticking.

Agreed. They are definitely in a downward slide. But if they get in as a low seed, I wouldn't want to be the higher seed drawing them.

Which is why I said an RPI of 46 would leave you sweating come Selection Sunday. Not a lock.

You quoted my post which asked, what's the best RPI high major to be left out of the field of 68. You responded with a team that was left out of the field of 64, not sure why? Why not respond to the question that was asked?

Sorry, didn't notice the "68" qualifier.

No need for the attitude. I see that you're in your typical late February uber-defensive form. Good to see that some things never change.

give it another week or 2 and he'll be finding the most obscure bracket projection out there and saying its always the most accurate (hint-- it will be the only 1 with TN still in it by then)

Jerry Palm of Cbssports.com has us a #12 play-in vs Georgetown. If we lose a game like that would it be like going to the NIT.

It wasn't mean to have an attitude, and I'm sorry it sounded that way. It was a honest question, and I was unsure if you intentionally answered it that way or just missed the "68" part.

Now that you have cleared that part up, do you know the answer to the original question? I looked briefly and found 56 to be what I came up with, but I very well could be wrong.

Sorry for the tone of my previous post, hopefully no hard feelings :hi:

No, but it shouldn't be hard to find out. The 68 field has only been around for 2 -3 years.

The 68 team tourney has not been around long enough to be considered fact. The sample size is too small.

Why because it doesn't fit your motive?

There's been about 200 teams get at large bids, and about triple that not, that's a pretty decent sample size.
