LV 2019 Recruiting Thread

You Holly supporters sound like you are talking to people from the planet Mars that have never seen a basketball game. We know what type of coaching these girls will get, no matter what their qualifications. We have seen quite a few of Holly's Follies!!!! I see no reason to think you will see anything any different from now own through Holly's departure.

Based off her performance in the AA game , i dont think i will be but if i am you will be the first to know.

Never base such things on All-Star games (men or women). Especially a big in contests that are going to be dominated by guards for the most part. I believe that Jewell Loyd of Notre Dame had something like 4 points in the Micky D A-A game.

For the ultimate "All-Star games aren't a great predictor" sermon see Christian Laettner who supposedly was horrible during McDonalds practices and the game. Hated him. But once he got in a structured team oriented system he was a great college player.

Laughing my $#% off at this post. Don't attack Warlick but attack the coach that has and is still winning championshipS.
Check Uconn record against top notch teams.Youre putting down their program
who's winning year in and year out but
judging us'fans' for wanting to have the same. Six year drought. We play like high schoolers, but scrubs is more appropriate (Don't want to bad mouth high schoolers).
'Two men enter and one man leave ' Mad Max /Thunderdome. We have been neither. Not even one out of three out of 349. I miss the good ole days when we was the one and number one.
SIGH

Well, at least you got a laugh out of it.😆

And of course I attack a cheater that bad mouthed us to recruits. Are you forgetting that Pat Summitt canceled the series for those very reasons because the NCAA wouldn't do anything?

Geno's winning doesn't excuse how he's won. Lance Armstrong won a lot of races, but eventually the truth came out.

I will give the man credit; he's played the system and won a staggering amount of games. To get the best player in America to come to your school most every year for 2 decades is really unthinkable. Not good recruiting. PERFECT RECRUITING. And their in-game execution is similarly flawless. Kudos.

We all like winning.

As for being the 1, we haven't been that since 2008.

But no I'm not going to put down my team or coach. What sense does that make?

Guess you saw the same from Pat, too. But extra points for rhyming.

(P.S., it's "from now on".)

I went to the game and you definitely cant compare an Allstar game to even a regular high school game. They play very little defensive and theres no zone play or game schemes. Very loose bball. I did noticed watching Collins is that she runs the floor well and she boxes out in the paint well.

If they played little defense, then the receiving coaches got a lot of work to do. I didn't see the game, but looking at the boxscore it appears outside of Williams and Egbo, the shooting was atrocious.

Man how you got Pat into what I said is amazing...You from Mars?

The Holly Huggers are under the impression that because she was an assistant under Pat for so many years one day she will magically become as good a coach as Pat was. We should just give her more time because she really cares about the program and the girls.

Well then don’t set your sights high lol and let her learn as a freshman either way she is going to bring energy and she is going to be good in the screen and roll action!

I’ve seen her progress and if she continues to progress she will be an asset. What you didn’t see if she can take a big off the dribble and she can initiate a break. Go check out some of her training clips. She is legit she just needs confidence. The thing that may delay her is she is used to playing with developed guards and a motion offense.

I should start this comment by saying that I do not think I can be classified as a "Holly Hugger" since I have found much to criticize in the way the coach has handled in game adjustments and coaching in the last couple of seasons. But, that said, I don't think it is the, as you so colorfully stated, "Holly Huggers" who expect Holly to become Pat Summitt or, even necessarily, as good as Pat. Instead, in my opinion, it is the constant complainers and "Holly Haters" who simply cannot stand the fact that Holly is not, and never will be, Pat!

Is Holly the best coach for the Lady Vols? I don't know. What I do know is that I have seen some growth - particularly over the past two seasons. It has, admittedly, been very slow growth and, frankly, I think that will ultimately be her downfall. The Tennessee fanbase is not known for being patient, myself among them! Will Holly be more than an effective caretaker for the program and become the firebrand coach that so many seem to want to see? Personally, I, like a number of others, think she has spent too many years being the go to shoulder for the players lean on to ever effectively change her persona. But, to expect her to be the second coming of Pat Summitt is both unrealistic and unfair, in my opinion, and will only continue to result in heartburn for those of you who fall into that category.

And, I have seen suggestions that Holly should hire a "disciplinarian" to take over the role that Pat filled so effectively for so many years. That is so obviously impossible for so many glaring reasons that it frankly bears no discussion.

Just my opinion,

Jim

Respect.....but, we do not hate Holly....it is a game after all....but a game that she is well paid to win, not be mediocre.....the players deserve better coaching....how that happens is our difference of oppinion....

The last two seasons were Holly's WORST postseason showings. She isn't showing growth, if anything she is showing clear regression....

I have watched her for the last three years in the state tournament. She is one of my favorite players. However with the guards we have.... Annie and Evina....And the guards for 2018.... Zay and Jaz..She is not a need and with two more Hayes sisters coming in 19 and 20..... It just doesn’t make sense!!! JMO

But love her game !
She is a very good player on both sides of the ball. Just saw she is no longer going to wku was wondering if she had any bigger offers she is ranked 66th in the nation. Would have thought she would have some better offers to think about

The past two years have shown growth? They have been the most underachieving years in program history. This team has been loaded with talent the past two years and couldn't even make it past the first weekend of the NCAAT. The LVs only missed making the regional semis once in the NCAAT's first 35 years. Now they've missed two years in a row. I don't care who the coach is -- that's unacceptable.

Fans have been more than patient. The LVs haven't been to the F4 in ten years-- and Holly has been HC six of those years. She's been coaching since the Reagan years. How long should we continue to await a coaching epiphany or anticipate her radical transformation into a disciplinarian that pushes and develops players?

I don't want Holly to be Pat. I want her to be a great head coach. I want her to get the best out of her players and make the LVs elite again. If she can't be that and do that, then I want Fulmer to do what it takes to return the program to greatness. LV fans have been both supportive and patient. But it's time for positive change, either internally or from outside the program. Expecting a better outcome without some sort of change is going to bring more disappointment. We've had enough.

Its not a bad thing that they didnt play much defense because allstar games are just played to show off tal ent. Thats why you see NBA allstar games in high triple digits. Our girls didnt score much because they were more focused on facilitating which i was impressed with. Zay Green was all over the place, very active and JazMass is super quick. Collins spent a lot of time around the perimeter. I think she likes to shoot from outside.

I had to laugh at her standing over in the corner ( open and no one guarding her ) she was yelling throw the ball to me I am open !!!! Just silly of her because it is an all star game.... everyone wanting to show off and not playing team ball. But a learning experience for her. 😁

Hamilton Heights girls playing on ESPNU in Geico national tournaments. Jasmine Massengill comitt and maybe future lady Vols ( Treasure Hunt and Kamilla Coradosa )??

Not the fact they weren't playing defense, but the poor shooting in spite of the porous defense.

I would still like the LV recruits to just be a little selfish and show off what they can do...

more Meghan Simmons, please!

What's the saying? You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I bet SC wishes they had someone like Simmons to at least give their posts a chance to grab an offensive rebound.

What do you think about Coradosa 6’7” according to the announcers!???!! If Uconn gets in on either or both ..,, Ugh ,,, I don’t know. I was hoping to get both in 2020.. Realize they are both Sophomores
