Mack Brown out at Texas

I just got home and while I was driving I was listening to College Sports Nation - MarSome guy named Jimmy called in said he used to work at South Alabama in the sports dept - said he still has connections and talked to someone about the contract with Saban. He said that the deal is done - that IF Brown leaves, Saban goes to TX and Kirby Smart is Bama's next coach immediately.

Take it for what it's worth.....

Jimmy gets it!

It's turned into a discussion on both, so why not post it in here?

Okay, let me try.

A buddy of mine that lives in Waco called me up and said that his dad works at Uhaul, Nick Saban came through and said he needed to rent a REALLY big moving truck. Side note, he was wearing a suit with a burn orange tie...for what its worth.

The poster said he knew some guys in Dallas...that means absolutely nothing. NOTHING. I'm all for speculation based on sources, but you cant just come in here repeating something your buddy told you. This place would be a mad house.

A lot of athletes and coaches want to be able to live like they are still playing/coaching when they're out of the game, so they try to grow their money by investing in things like land deals, restaurants, etc. Stuff that could potentially give you a nice flow of money once you're done coaching or playing.

"Sigh" I guess if you've never had that kind of money in the first place it's hard to relate or understand that way of thinking. With all the money Saban makes, he could simply bank all of it, live a VERY nice comfortable life on the interest alone and never have to worry about losing it to bad investments. Don't understand why more people with that kind of means don't see it that way.

Sure I can. That's half the fun of message boards.

Besides, this wasn't something I heard somebody saying. Just something I heard on the radio last night and thought it would be fun to share. You must have missed the part where I said, "Don't believe it for a second," but that's okay.

At no point did I refer to your post... VolnsNskins said he knew some financial guys in Dallas that said it...
