Mack Brown out at Texas

Look about 6 posts up.

Well, that might be true... I said a few pages back it's very obvious unless someone calls him he is just going to do his thing. He doesn't look like he is resigning from what I saw today, matter of fact, he didn't look like he even wants to talk about it with them until after the game.

They are going to have to fire him.

Longhorn Football ?@UTexasFootball 11m SOURCES: Nick Saban has an 8 year, $85 million offer from Texas. The deal will be finalized after Mack Brown's resignation Friday afternoon.

Is it just me or does this salary number keep bouncing around anywhere from $6-$10 million?

And who else feels like these numbers are arbitrary and folks are trying to see who gets their message out there the most?

This story is starting to really get some legs to it. My big question is if it goes down whose bandwagon will you guys be jumping on?

I mean you still have Kentucky basketball and the Heat, that crimson almost matches the crimson of FSU and they are probably going to win it all...

Serious question I will hang up and listen....

I'm just posting stuff that I'm reading on the internet. Sorry if this is bothering you. You can always use the ignore feature. Or go hang out with your relatives on Tidefans.

And I'm just questioning the credibility/believability of that stuff. I understand that they aren't your words, so trust me when I say it's not personal.

Fair enough. My apologies for bringing your cousins into this matter.

Half of my counsins are Auburn fans, so screw those guys.

Could be worse all of mine are UF fans and I was pretty sure they was all going over to you guys.

If this goes down there may be alot of returned Christmas presents. Thank God walmart has a generous return policy.

You know here is a thought...

IF saban does leave bama, fans could always just leave the tags on whatever teams fan gear you do jump on. Walmart will take it back if they dont pan out. Just dont spill hotdog on it, I mean we all know you guys wasnt going to wash it anyways. :)

Off the defensive staff, I think Thompson and Brown would certainly go with Saban. Rumph might stay with Smart. I think Saban would be hiring fewer guys than Smart would. I think the biggest replacement Saban would have to make is S&C Coach Scott Cochran. I think Cochran would stay at Bama.

So do u think if saban were to leave smart would be the automatic top candidate for the job?? Would that make yall happy or will yall want battle to go after a someone else (if so some names that would satisfy yall?).

Also, say brown were to stay. And now saban has to stay, I don't think yall would be to upset, but have to be cautious. Cause there's always next year. Doubt yall have a upper hand if he has to stay, but battle may need to figure a way to restructure (now that sexton/saban put it on the table) his contract to where the buyout is pretty high or something to make it harder for him to leave. Best thing for yall would be brown leaves and saban stays just to get it over with. Not that recruiting is going to hurt for yall to bad but having that uncertainty will finally give other coaches a card to use against yall if brown stays.

Just some thoughts and wondering a bamas take on it. thx.

Regarding Smart: yes, I think he'd get the job. And I think most Bama fans would be okay with it. While it's not official, it's been widely accepted that he's been the coach in waiting for a couple of years. He's had opportunities to leave, but he's stayed on (being the highest paid coordinator in the country helps). The only way he's leaving Bama is if some school like UGA comes calling.

As for the rest, we have to hear stuff about Saban leaving every year. Shoot, I think rumors of Saban's departure began as soon as he took the job. While there may be "more smoke" this time, it's not like it's something entirely new. If he stays, and Texas hires someone else, it will simply be some other college or NFL team next year.

Shaggybevo rumor: the assistants he reached out to are Finkel from osu, and chad Morris.

This seems even more unrealistic know.
