I really hope this season is an improvement from last. Last season had some nice moments but overall I thought it was a real snoozer.

Is season 5 on Netflix yet? I haven't caught up.

If AMC keeps to their normal pattern, season 5 won't be on there until right up until the new season is going to start. I was still behind BB before this most recent season and I think the previous season showed up on Netflix the morning of the day the premiere aired, or something pretty close to that.

A few weeks ago I watched all 4 seasons on Netflix in one week. I didn't sleep much that week. I didn't realize that season 5 aired already. Suppose I could stream it on 1channel.ch.

That's roughly how most networks operate. Same with DVD releases.

Yeah, last year they released Breaking Bad Season 4 on the day Season 5 premiered.

Can't remember what show it was but I knew they tend to keep it pretty close but I was just shocked that they waited until literately the day of the premiere.

Yep, previously it seemed like they gave a week or 2 before the new season started.

Just watched the season 6 finale. It was good to see that the partners are tired of Don's crap and sent him packing. He torpedoed so many opportunities this season with his personal baggage. Next season will be interesting with the California agency starting up. Maybe we'll see Don becoming a full fledged hippie and going to Woodstock. That would be pretty sweet.

Did anyone else catch it? Thoughts?

I don't think he goes to Cali. I think he realized he can't keep running from his problems, and that's why he took his kids to the house he grew up in.

I think he's out at SC&P.

I dunno. Meghan wants to go to Hollywood, so I think it's possible that he ends up in California with her. On the other hand, Meghan really doesn't add much to the show as a character so I could just as easily see her leaving Don to go out west.

Every time I think Don has turned the corner and made some huge life realization, he reverts back to his old self. Showing his kids where he grew up was him trying to let them into his life a little more. However I also saw it as him trying to examine his own past to find some meaning or find his way back onto the right path.

I agree that he's out at the agency. Duck bringing in that guy to replace him was a good indicator of that. But who knows. This show is good at pulling surprises. It might start up next season and Don Draper is no more and he's back to being Dick Whitman.

Since next season is the last, I would like to see how they tie the Dick Whitman thing into it. Also be interesting to see where the Pete storyline goes. Don and Pete are out, Pete is only one of a few people who know Don's true identity.

Pete has dirt on both Don and Bob Benson. Benson is interesting in that he's kind of like Don Draper v 2.0 without being a gaping a-hole. I bet you he's going to land some huge account next season and be set for life, or he lands a huge account and then he's exposed as a fraud. Roger is pissed at him too now. This season has been particularly light on Roger, who's my favorite character. Hopefully he gets a proper send off next season.

No way don leaves NYC. Manhattan is practically a character in and of itself in the show.

I also see don staying at SC&P. Would be a hell of a lot of new character development late in the game if a new agency gets thrown in the mix.

I also think that this is the season that gets Jon Hamm his Emmy.

Possible but the final season of Breaking Bad will be in the same Emmy season so, if history is any indication, Cranston will be the front runner.

I think Don will stay at SC&P in New York. Could Duck have been bringing in someone to replace Pete Campbell since it looks like Pete was fired? It was never really clear.

Speaking of Pete. I was a little confused by the episode 2 weeks ago when Pete confronted Bob Benson about his bogus identity and his shady past. He said that "he knows what Bob is" and basically apologized for anything he'd said that might have made Bob mad and said he wouldn't expose Bob, but Pete wants to be off limits.

Did he mean he knows Bob is some kind of super con artist and doesn't want to mess with him for fear of his career?
