I didn't say I heard the interview..I read it from a reliable poster on TOS who heard it
Sapp and Brewer have both been playing very, very well. There is no guarantee that Maggitt was going to just step in and take back over at either spot.
However, when stud freshmen play you expect both flashes of brilliance and incompetence. With Maggitt we only got the latter. I'm not saying he sucks. I'm merely saying that aside form the depth issue, his loss is not that big of a deal.

He also played in the open scrimmage without a contact jersey.

He didn't play in last night's scrimmage and no one wore a green jersey last night..Maggitt was back in a green jersey today
Injury Notes: Pig Howard and Brian Randolph were new additions to the list of green limited jerseys. Curt Maggitt was back in green, as was Justin King, after no green jerseys were seen during Saturday nights open practice at Neyland Stadium.
Ramey's open practice notes
Paul Harris (ankle), Curt Maggitt (knee) and Marlin Lane were held out of practice, though no green jerseys were seen on the night.
And that's what they're paid to do - give their opinions.
The disconnect comes when people aren't bright enough to tell the difference between news and opinion. And sports isn't the only area where that happens.

I look at Curt Maggitt and see a lot of the Bob Sanders or Troy Polamalu type. He's a beast to be reckoned with, when he's on the field. Both of those guys have had issues with their health, especially Sanders who ended up having to retire way too early because his body had betrayed him.
If Maggitt is healthy and ready to rock, I say use him. If I were Coach Jones I wouldn't play him until the Oregon game, just as a precaution. In all honesty we won't need him until that game and the ones after anyway.
