Seems like some people are setting expectations purposely over the top knowing reaching them is unlikely....thus giving them something to b!tch about.

Agreed. But some are tempering expectations too. IMO Anyone thinking a first round exit is a good goal is crazy, same for the people screaming final 4 or bust. This team does have sweet sixteen talent, baring injuries, but not getting there shouldn't result in Martin being fired. IMO
Like I've said a thousand times, there's too many factors to just cut and dry let a NCAA result decide whether this season was a success or not.
If Tennessee goes 26-5, is ranked top 15 the whole year, wins the SECT, gets a 4 seed and is upset in round 1...will I call the season a failure and call for Martin's head, not hardly.
To me I will put A LOT more weight on what they do over 31 games than what they do over just a couple games in a setting our coach has no experience in.

Is it really fair to put it all on Barton?Predictions either way, really depend on Barton. If he can get the ball up under pressure, play d, and knock down open 3's the sky may very well be the limit. If he can't do those things, a first round exit is very possible. IMO
This year I will be very disappointed if we make the tourney and bail out in the first round.....I will be happy with a sweet sixteen trip or more.
That being said.....it looks like Zo is going to meet what I want from tenn coach......make the tourney and have a top 20 recruiting class.

The pressure is on the Cuonz.
Can he get his team to perform as well outside TBA as they do inside?
If he can, the sky is the limit with some luck and some breaks.
I didn't say it's all on Barton, the pressure is on Martin. But a lot of our success hinges on Barton. Thompson probably isn't physically ready yet, and if Jordy, Josh, or Armani has to bring the ball up we will have a problem. If Barton can do the things we hope, we could be a very dangerous team. The huge X factor is Maymon, if he is truly healthy he is huge in breaking full court pressure. Probably our best ball handler 2 years ago, and he makes good decisions.
