Hubbs just spoke to Jackson and is writing a story now.
- he will be in town tomorrow and begin classes for the 2nd summer session
- he currently weighs 265-270lbs
I doubt many if any programs anywhere near the quality of UT have much if any room (available schollies) to take USC guys. He obviously feels he may be better off to take advantage of the no-waiting transfer opportunity. Heck, due to 3 of UT's DEs being seniors, UT offers him a pretty good chance of meaningful playing time in 2010 and of starting in 2011 -- in a top tier SEC program. Why UT? Does he have ties to someone? Or just a good job by the coaches?

This is great news, this doesn't *destroy* USC in any shape, fashion, or form. But it does taste a little sweet, I must admit. And Jackson will end up being an integral part of our defensive line rotation immediately.
However, before we end up tossing grenades at the USC messageboards for them bashing this kid when he wants to transfer, browse through the Bryce Brown thread first, please.
