I have more money than I could spend in my lifetime. Also, fame would require me to deal with public, people like you. So, I wouldn't have any interest in that. It's not jealousy. I simply don't like them. Nice to see your bigotry showing through in your characterizations of Ray and Jam. I love how tough cyberspace cowboys like yourself are behind your keyboard. I'd pay 10 grand to see you refer to either of those guys as anything other than Mr. Lewis.

Joe Gibbs had a dynasty or mini dynasty and did it with the likes of Doug Williams and Mark Rypien.
I wouldn't consider that any sort of mini-dynasty. They won 3 times over the course of a decade. They only put back to back championship caliber seasons together once, and that was with Theisman at QB.

Interesting, since every dynasty or mini-dynasty in NFL history has had a Hall of Fame QB.

And they also had the supporting cast, which Peyton does not. I wish every Vol had Peyton's talent, and more importantly, work ethic. We would have beaten Florida...no problem. And before you say he did not beat Florida, reread what I said about supporting cast.:p

Did you happen to see yesterday's game? Everybody in the opposing teams stadium knew Peyton was going to score with 2 minutes remaining. I knew, you knew it, and it happened. As a coach, what more could you want from a player, or maybe you prefer the likes of Albert H.?:wavey:

Wrong. Peyton has had a supporting cast in the NFL and in college. That's a terrible excuse.

He had Faulk and James back to back. Faulk is a HOF'er very soon. James was a top 3-5 back, and very well could end up in the HOF. He had a top 5 OL last season. He had a top 7 defense last season.

I'm not saying any of the losses should be pinned on his shoulders ONLY. However, the supporting cast excuse is ridiculous. He went to UT who always had a top 10 class, then to the NFL, where after his first 2 seasons, he had top 5 NFL talent around him every year. The Colts just haven't found the missing piece, yet.

Look at UT's 1997 roster and tell me Manning didn't have all the help a QB could ever hope for.

Yeah, Marvin Harrison, Edge, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, etc. Manning has never played with good players in the pros.

Hall of Fame QBs definitely are a major ingredient to making dynasties . . . but they share Super Bowl Championship honors with the likes of Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, Trent Dilfer, Jim McMahon, Jim Plunkett etc.

Plunkett's the only one of those guys with more than one. The easier question is this: During the Super Bowl Era, how many truly great QBs have failed to win a championship?

But it was not the 98 roster! Look we will never agree on Peyton. I just do not understand that in a day when you have all these college show boats, that you do not think crap about a guy that every father would want his son to be like. I lived in New Orleans for 8 eight years, the Manning's were/are the perfect citizens. They do not let their fame get too much to their head. Peyton still studies the game films as if he were a rookie trying to impress the coach. God give me break. People with his talent tend to act like their crap don't stink.....Jamail Lewis, Albert H. ,T. Owens....Geez, I have had enough of these turkeys. I will take a Peyton..ANYDAY...And Smile:yes:

Exactly. The '97 roster was more talented because it included Leonard Little.

Kelly, Marino and Fouts come to mind, though I'm not sure that Fouts is really "great".

And Terry Fair.

So, are you telling me that if every player on the TN team(Every Player!) had the talent in their respective positions and work ethic of Peyton, that we would not win the NC? Sorry, I do not believe that.....Nor will I ever...

No, I'm simply pointing out that the year after Mr. Statistics left, Tee Martin led a less talented team to a National Championship.
