Nico didn't beat Florida....the DEFENSE did.I'm in no way suggesting Nico will have a career anywhere close to Peyton's. I have not been in that camp. He's a freshman that has a lot of growing to do, but probably not as much as most of us professional and expert analyzers are suggesting. I think he's closer than we think.
He has beaten UF in his first ever match up against them and I like his way too early chances against them in the swamp next season. Hopefully UF somehow retains this turd of a coach and I really like UTs chances, but they could also be in year one of a new hire coach and in a hot mess with all that.....
Any of the Florida teams that Manning played against would’ve beat the Vols this past Saturday while resting their 1st string the entire second half. Those teams were coached by Spurrier and their DC’s back then were legit. The argument that Nico beat Florida but Manning never did is an apples to oranges argument. Never mind the fact that Sampson was the hero Saturday, Nico was NOT.lol, this. Weurffel’s Florida in 96 would’ve beat this team like a drum

Some years ago I went back and watched those two games as well as the ‘95 game. He seemed to play much different against them. Almost nervous. I noticed he shuffled his feet much more in those games and was in a hurry to get rid of the ball each time he dropped back.Manning didn't have his best outings in 96 and 97
That was always dumbfounding!Yep, Fulmer and Cutcliffe thought Jamal Lewis didnt know the protection schemes well enough so they played Mark Levine rather than Jamal, one of only 7 NFL rbs to gain 2,000 yards in a season.
I would have thought about the second or third time we handed the ball to Jamal on a draw or a screen pass that would have pretty much slowed the pass rush down.
And Shazamm, JL learned the protection schemes well enough to gain about 150 yards against Ole Miss the next week and 200 against UGA the week after that.
Manning did not run very often, but when he did, the surprise was so great he often just walked in for a score.Actually at the same age. Manning was a true Sophomore. Nico is a red shirt freshman. Only thing Nico has over him is running...that's it. Manning was more accurate, read defenses better, has all the intangible s.
Nico didn’t beat UF. Clausen didn’t beat UF. Dobbs didn’t beat UF. Hooker didn’t beat UF. Stop being dumb. Also let’s be real. Those UF teams under Spurrier were VASTLY superior on both sides of the ball than any UF team besides the Meyer led gators.I'm in no way suggesting Nico will have a career anywhere close to Peyton's.
