Manti Te'o's Dead girlfriend never existed?

@ClayTravisBGID
Wow. RT @TheBigLead: Confirmed from 2 sources: ESPN has known about Manti Te'o story for 10 days.

lol it keeps getting better.

I can understand holding it till after the BCSMNCG, but.......now I'm more confused.

@ClayTravisBGID Serious question-would you rather hold press conference about fake dead girlfriend or one debunking that you butt chugged?

It's the first thought that entered my mind, but then I wondered why he would kill her off. Wouldn't you, um, keep the fake gf?

You're a high profile athlete. Eventually, people are going to want to see pics of you and her. If she dies, people aren't going to question why you haven't moved on for quite a while.

I'm going to come up with something better than "uh, uh.......she's dead."

And look, I have no idea what happened. It doesn't good for Manti in any way, shape, or form.

However, I have a hard, hard time believing he came up with all of this.

@SyanRhodes: On ESPN @GenoESPN says he searched for Manti's gf's obit. Never found it. Asked Manti for pics and contact w/ gf's family. Manti said no.

Why would he say no to GW?

Why would he say no to GW?

Gene said that Te'o told him the he would, but the family said no.

@SportsCenter: Source tells Deadspin (who first reported Manti Te'o fake girlfriend story) that he's 80% sure Te'o participated in hoax.

Did he claim they met at the Stanford game?

I'm not sure..I wonder who the south bend tribune got this from?

Nov. 28, 2009: Te'o and Kekua meet after Stanford's 45-38 victory over Notre Dame in Palo Alto, according to the South Bend Tribune: "Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te'o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes." Kekua, a Stanford student, swaps phone numbers with Te'o.

It never felt like a chance meeting, although it probably appeared that way from the outside looking in.

Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te'o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes.

They could have just as easily brushed past each other and into separate sunsets. Te'o had plenty to preoccupy himself that November weekend in Palo Alto, Calif., back in 2009.

It is apparent now that Te'O, at the very least, took a lot of poetic license with his online girlfriend (even if he did believe she existed). We'll see how it unfolds. I think the most interesting factor here will be Notre Dame's role in all this.
