Manti Te'o's Dead girlfriend never existed?

No. Te'o said that she told him not to come to her funeral. She wanted him to play against Michigan.

Yeah then I am pretty sure it was a fabricated story - dies from leiukemia that fast without even knowing you have it does sound rather strange

still doesnt explain him tweeting to a profile with fake pics he is supposed to obviously know is not his gf.

I wasn't looking at my gf's twitter pics when we were dating.

I also don't have a twitter.

So that does ask an interesting question.

I am under the impression he knew she had leukemia.

Anything goes man. He could be innocent. He could be a fool. He could be gay. I believe there is a former nfl player with the same name as the other culprit ( I can't spell tuioassaopposapopo), that came out years ago. Maybe he was going overboard to prove he was hetero so he wouldn't be brown balled from football.
Anything goes.

I think the article said they were brothers, (Tuiousosopos)

I agree.

I would buy the fake girlfriend theory totally.

However, I can't buy that he would fake her death.

I don't see much difference in having a fake girlfriend and faking her death. Pretty much the next step. If you have already gone that far with parents, etc, what's the difference. I don't see how he would never speak to her or meet her. He is a high profile athlete, not Kip Dynamite flirting with Lafawnduh.

Before social media, no-one would have ever known.

Um, yeah, I broke up with her is a simple explanation or she cheated on me and I never want to talk about her again?

I mean, he was deep into this he decided to fake her death AND THEN make it a publicity stunt?

I can't believe someone is that stupid.

So Te'o is claiming he got hacked??

He was interviewed a million times on TV about his girlfriend.

Quite possible that in this day and age he fell in love with a mirage. He might have actually thought that she existed; he might have actually been crushed when she "died". Not sure who informed the press that his "girlfriend" died, but, once that was out there, would anyone have expected him to say, "Well, I'm crushed; I loved her; but, I only ever chatted with her on Twitter"?

It's not like Te'o needed any extra publicity. He was a great LB entering the year and his grandma died, which is enough of a talked about tragedy for sports figures, anyway. It is one thing to be blinded by infatuation/love; it is another thing to be so incredibly stupid and short-sighted to think that one can pull off the scam that Deadspin is saying Te'o was in on.

The guy on FBaum keeps saying brothers...

Hes also not giving any new information really, just basically telling the article to the listeners

Well, interesting, because in the article he claims they are cousins.

Ronaiah Tuiasosopo comes from a big football family. His father, Titus, played for USC in the late '80s and early '90s. One uncle, Navy, played for the L.A. Rams; another uncle, Mike, coaches the defensive line at Colorado. A cousin from an older generation, Manu, went to Seattle in the first round in 1979; another cousin, Marques, went to Oakland in the second round in 2001. A cousin from a different side of the family, Fred Matua, earned All-America honors at guard for USC and played on several NFL teams, before dying this past August of a heart-related issue. (He was 28.)

Manti's dad said she came to Hawaii to visit them.

Reports they met in '09, reports from Mantis dad that she visited often in Hawaii. Ummmm, and this is not believable why??

Thank you.

Again, it's possible that she was done with him or something of that nature, and she faked her death.

I'm not saying that is what happened, just throwing out a theory.

Where are you getting this? From the Deadspin article:

And it was around this time that Manti and his father began filling in details about the linebacker's relationship with Lennay. Brian Te'o told multiple reporters that the family had never met Kekua; the Te'os were supposed to spend time with her when they visited South Bend, Ind., for Notre Dame's Senior Day on Nov. 17.

Maybe I missed something?

I know what you are saying. That's what you or I would do, but then again, we are sane enough to not roll with a hoax with such depth of information along the way. Meetings, wrecks, sickness, phone conversations, etc.

This is hilarious.
