My point is, they met, he seen her, her profile pic on Twitter wasn't her. I get everything you're saying but just because you can't understand why someone would do something like that doesnt mean there isn't some crazy people out there that would do anything for attention, even people that are already in the spotlight. Doesn't make a lot of sense but that doesn't make it false either.

2010-2011: Te'o and Kekua are friends. "She was gifted in music, multi-lingual, had dreams grounded in reality and the talent to catch up to them" (South Bend Tribune). "They started out as just friends," Te'o's father, Brian, told the Tribune in October 2012. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there."

The elder Te'o told the South Bend Tribune in October, "[W]e came to the realization that she could be our daughter-in-law. Sadly, it won't happen now."

While im with ya on that, why would she go allll the way to Hawaii to see Manti when he was home, but he wouldn't introduce her to his family. Sounds fishy

God, that article was a convoluted pain in the @$$ to read. Either Manti is super-crazy or Deadspin outsmarted themselves on this one.

Let's, for a second, imagine this conversation:

Friend (Ronnie Tuisappo or whatever): "Dude, I got an idea as to how to boost your popularity."

Manti: "Okay, let's hear it."

Ronnie: "You have this fake girlfriend for a year or so. We put it on twitter and everything. Then, we say she dies of leukemia. People will eat it up!"

Manti: "Sounds good! Let's do it!"

Who has that conversation?

Remember, the article states they met either in 2009 or starting twittering each other in 2010. So they carried this out for allegedly 2-3 years...
