But employers still don’t have to hire you and it’s still illegal for public consumption and operating a vehicle.

Same as alcohol but if its deemed legal by feds and state an employer would not be able to not hire you (double negative, sorry) due to that without a lawsuit.

I'm not pro any drug, I'm just pro ending the failure that the war on drugs has been.

People that smoke weed rarely just smoke weed. If I had to choose I’d take the war on drugs versus freely allowing habitual drug use.

I don't believe you are correct, employers can legally discriminate against tobacco users so they will be able to discriminate against drug users.

Of course you would

How many of those who "rarely just smoke weed" drink and/or smoke cigarettes?

The 5% tax will strengthen the illegal weed market because the states will add their taxes on top of that.

I dont think so.

There will be a black market more so on the leaf side but on the catridge side I think the name brands that are sanctioned will be the majority of sales due to quality.

Not sure exactly what you’re saying but I’m sure an employer can refuse to hire habitual drug users without fear of retribution and their insurance providers would agree.

Companies drug test mainly for two reasons, insurance or regulation. We wouldn't if our insurance and federal gov didn't require it.

It is stupid that cannabis is illegal.

It is 100% due to big pharm lobbiest and K street.

I have a friend who has serious insomnia issues and has had them since he was 12. He would go days without sleep before crashing. He tried lamp therapy, sleep clinics, and meds like trazadone. Nothing worked.

He now uses an indica called Northen lights to help him sleep. Started about 1 year ago and does about 3 hits before bed time. First time in his life he can actually turn his brain off and sleep. Wakes up the next day totally refreshed and literally no hang over like trazadone gave him.

Also a sativa is much much healthier for you to use instead of alcohol if you are out and just wanting to chill or relax.

You have pain issues 9 pound hammer is better than anything and will relive serious back pain.

Just stupid this stuff is illegal.

Legalize it and tax it and use the revenue to offset tax losses from covid.

Atleast....that's what my friend who lives in a state where its legal says.

Ask the people who's family and friends that have suffered mentally due to being addicted.

There is no federal regulation barring teh discrimination against smokers, in some states they might have protections but I doubt it's many these days.

I just want to see small time farmers get a shot at this. I know we can do it better, safer, and cheaper than what’s on the black market. If this bill gets the ball rolling in that direction then I fully support it. I know the big guys will get first dibs but I’m willing to bet on farmers in small towns especially in East Tennessee.
