Looks as if O and Monte's first stop is Memphis to talk to Marlon. If anybody could pull it off it would be O but I just don't see it happening.

I have seen Marlon Brown play alot in HS! I said before that he is good, but not great! I hope we get him (to keep in-state players) but he is not a difference maker! I will not lose 1 sec of sleep if he goes elsewhere. 6'5 and plays against the terrible competition in D2 1A (worse than D1 1A).......he better be good at that level. He could be GREAT at TSU/APSU/UTC!!!!

Unfortunately TSU/APSU/UTC thinks Marlon is no good as well. Guess Marlon will have to settle for UGA or Ohio State.

Good for him.....Ride the pine for a few yrs and transfer to a school he should go to from day 1! Good point!!!!:lolabove:

No...but I do know more than you.
Have YOU actually WATCHED him play a game??? I have (6-7 times). I'm not a scout, but I do know alot about the game. I have seen 5-6 better WR's in Tennessee this year than him. He is a product of size and level of competition. I hope I'm wrong about him, but I just don't see it.

I've never watched him play and I don't pretend to know more than anyone else. I will however take Lane Kiffin, Mark Richt, and Jim Tressel's opinion over yours any day my friend.

I still think he will be a bust at a big school. He can't separate from a fast DB. He CAN jump, but his hands are questions as well. It's my opinion.

I DO hope we get him though. I'd rather have him than some of the stiffs we have at WR now. But...he his not a game breaker. A lesser Greg Carr at FSU! (crap...he is pretty good). I would take that, but Brown does not have Carr's speed, and Carr is SLOOOOOOOW!

I think star count is irrelevant here, it is more that he was rated as the best in the state and that is the more important consideration for signing him if you want to close the border.
