Marlon Brown

So im guessing that he marlon does'nt want to play basketball and football at the college level anymore? He just wants to play football?

Rogers, Stokes, Hunter, Thigpen, Oku and Gordon all run 4.4s. Thigpen runs 4.3. Your right, this class has no speed.

Rogers runs a 4.47 and Oku runs a 4.49. They are slower than LSU/UF/UGA skill players. That was the point. OK Thigpen is fast.......one speed guy.

What has he done though? 320 yards receiving this year. Regardless of the QBs, that is bad. No elite speed. Just above average quickness. He does have a good mind for the game though.

He is a very smart WR that thinks like a QB and his elusiveness is about as good as it gets. GJ may not have blazing speed but he makes up for it in football intelligence. He will be great once he has more help. He could have even won us some games under center if used properly.

One thing I have noticed on ALL the commitments and recruits (except LB's) is they are SLOW........Brown is slow also.

UT needs speed.

Je'ron Stokes, Damien Thigpen, DJ Hunter and Eric Gordon want you to take that statement back.

:stop:

You're reaching there I believe.

4.47 is good for a Safety. 4.49 is also pretty good for a RB and Oku runs very fast in pads.

All the skill players we've committed have good speed...they're not running 4.2's but that kind of speed is rare.

No! You don't understand. Electronically timed forties are obviously slower than handheld times and internet myths.

Only Thigpen appears to have speed in the class of Harvin/Demps/Rainey... but the other guys are far from "slow".

They did not visit with Marlon Brown yesterday like speculated. They went to talk to LB Greg King from Melrose in Memphis. They are expected to go watch his basketball game Friday though. This is all per rivals.

did they not visit him because he was still in Orlando?

Rogers' time was electronic. If I remember correctly, it was the fastest time posted at a Nike camp in Athens, GA... Unless that camp was somehow just for the duds then he's pretty quick.

Are you really sayin Brown is slow? Did you watch the UA game on Sunday? You cant tell me that those DB's were runnin a 4.8. He took off and pulled away. How fast are you wanting these guys to be?

Here is something for you to check. Snap your fingers.............. Ok thats the difference in a 4.3 and a 4.4.

By the way have you ever seen them run? They are not slow. They are faster than the WR's that started this year.(D-MO didn't start)

He might not be the guy burning down the sidelines for the deep ball, but he'll sure look good coming across the middle.

This kid is not slow. Also, I don't think pads slow him down much at all. Some don't take into account how putting on a set of pads will slow some players down. I know it was one play, but the move he made to split those guys in the UA game was slick. Subtle, but slick and once he seperated from them they did not catch up. He may be one of those guys thats as fast as he needs to be... I hated playing against guys like that...

he says that he has been talking to CLK alot on the phone and that they are developing a good relationship. Says Kiffin is making sure that he knows hes a really high priority on our list. He likes our choice for OC. He is meeting him on Friday at his school. Says hes not going to decide anything til all his visits are over (we are his last one). Denies that Georgia is his leader and says everyone is real close.... thats about it.
