Marlon Brown

Seems like Kiffin has turned Brown towards us recently. We need to get O in on him though. He basically owns Memphis.

He is a very smart WR that thinks like a QB and his elusiveness is about as good as it gets. GJ may not have blazing speed but he makes up for it in football intelligence. He will be great once he has more help. He could have even won us some games under center if used properly.

Got to be kidding me. He's not that elusive. Florida has 3 guys better. Jeremy Maclin is more elusive. CJ Gable and Joe Mcknight are more elusive. Moreno is more elusive. What are you looking at? Must be our good looking jerseys that have you blind. I don't think he'll be as big a factor as some of you think.

"I'm going to make all of my visits for sure," Brown said. "I won't decide anything until I get back from my Tennessee trip on that last weekend."

"Georgia's not my leader, nobody is in front," he said. "I like all those schools recruiting me, they're all real close. That's why I'm not going to decide anything before I finish with my visits."

Gerald Jones is very elusive. Look back at his HS videos. He had the misfortune of being the only threat on an inept offense this year. Surely you aren't basing this on the G-gun.

Add some more legit threats with him, and watch him. I think Millwood would disagree with you, too.

Gerald's a hell of a player.

I disagree with Lockdown as well. Not sure how anyone can think Gerald Jones is not a very good player.

He is one of the best players on the UT team, IMO. Other than Berry, I can't think of to many more elusive than G. Jones. I guess we will find out. Kiffin says all positions are open and there are no guaranteed starters right now. I will put money on it that Gerald starts in every game next year unless he is injured and is one of our key players.

IMO GJ is one of the best athletes on the team. this year when he got in the g gun everyone knew what we were going to do and our blockers sucked! but even with bad blocking he was still elusive enough to make at least 1 person miss

HS films he was alright. I know his shake moves look terrible against the SEC.

“My visit to Georgia was amazing,” he said. “I love the team and everything there is top-notch. Coach Mark Richt is real easy to talk to and said he really wants me at Georgia. I feel they really want me, plus I love Athens.”

With only about of month of time to recruit him, Brown says Tennessee’s new coach Lane Kiffin is now recruiting him the hardest. “They call whenever they can and email all the time,” he said. “I’ve talked to coach Kiffin and he seems cool too. I was real surprised when coach Phillip Fulmer resigned, but coach Kiffin seems like he’ll be a good coach.
“I just need to take my visit to Tennessee and see what it’s like,” he said. “I want to see if coach Kiffin and I have a good bond.”

With over 35 total scholarship offers, one team that didn’t make Brown’s final cut was LSU. “They kind of just stopped calling me,” he said of the Tigers.

kind of a surprise

I'm sure his opinion will be unbiased.

I will say this about Brown......

I have seen him play in PERSON many times. He his tall, can jump, and can catch the ball. I have seen him go thru the motions alot, though. Kinda reminds me of Patrick Turner. He may be faster in pads, than most(maybe) but there were many times in HS where he was not. I still want him at UT, I just don't think he a a HUGE difference maker. UT needs him to soilidify state recruiting. I hope I'm wrong about him...if so...I'll be the first to admit I was wrong!

He was sure going through the motions when he caught that little slant and ran away from the secondary in that "ALL AMERICAN" game. You talk like he's just average. :td:

Great that we have his final visit. Marlon...we need you! Stay in state and be a part of the "New" Tennessee! I am so excited and can't wait for the Orange White game. Brown would look great in orange!

I said I have seen him "go thru the motions" alot. NOT EVERY PLAY! That play.....great! Can he do it all the time????? Not so sure. Alot of EGO!

I agree. I think the last visit will be key for this guy.
