Marlon Brown

really? care to share who you think he picked? I think he chose UT until Phil was canned then I think it all opened back up.

I certainly don't follow this as closely as you do Rex...but I think MB made his decision months ago.

While that certainly may be true, Marlon has given no indication of that. He did seem to enjoy his UGA visit however.

I really don't think losing Drayton hurts our chances if that happens. I think keeping him on would have helped us, but I don't think losing him hurts us. JMO.

I think Georgia has been the leader since Fulmer was canned.

I haven't read most of the posts in this thread, but how do you guys think he would do with A.J. Green? He is a great receiver, and with two great receivers on the team you aren't going to get the ball near as much as your normally would if you were "the best receiver on the team"

Not sure if this will play into a factor at all for him....Does he seem to be a guy that want's the ball a lot?

Of course one of the reasons I don't get too involved with recruiting is because these are 18 year old kids, and your really never know what is going to happen with them until they sign the papers.

I personally like Green as well as any other right now anyway. He is 202 and he played in Florida. Patterson would be a huge get. MB would be huge as well. Boys will be boys.

Rex, you said you were at the CEntral Region Championship in Richmond, Va. Varina vs. Meadowbrook. Moses last HS game. Did you happen to see the WR for Varina - Bobby Smith? What did you think of him. I have seen him play several times and think he is a great athletew that fits the mold of CLK WR's. I know this is off topic but I havent heard of anyone mentioning this kid here.

Marlon Brown, WR, Memphis/Harding Academy

Brown
Player rank (position rank): 24 (3)
Considering: Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Ohio State and Ole Miss.
Front-runner: By all accounts, Tennessee seems to be leading for Brown. Lane Kiffin has made bringing Brown to Knoxville a top priority; he was on a plane to see Brown within hours of officially taking the UT job. The Vols' location and the chance to play early could be key parts of Kiffin's pitch.
Scouts Inc. says: Brown measures close to 6-6, and he knows how to use his frame. His athleticism makes him very difficult to handle off the line and on contested matchups downfield. He can outmuscle defenders for the ball, and his leaping ability makes it difficult to gain any position on him.

I was quoting a guy that was there.

ESPN doesn't know what they are talking about....I think it will be down to TN and UGA and it will be huge for him to get along/connect with whomever we hire for WR and that coach to be in place before his visit! Don't give up yet boys!

Sorry that was kind of an ignorant post by me, but it doesn't seem that they have the most in depth up to the minute recruiting coverage, they have many prospects that are set to visit us with us not even on their interested teams! I got carried away! haha!

I wouldn't count Ohio State out of the Marlon Brown sweepstakes. He and Terrell Pryor are pretty tight from what I have heard.

its only between us and ga. He wants to be close to home. so you would think he would go to UT or memphis, but hes got georgia on his radar. Some people say he stays in TN b/c of distance, but im not so sure. how far ga from memphis? it might be close to the same in distance. Im sure i could be wrong.
