Marlon Brown

why did he get so interested in Ole Miss all of the sudden? or am i missing something here?
QB situation here could be a bit of a problem for him. I think the kid honestily doesnt know what he wants other than attention. I think we get him in the end but I think he wants to get all the attention he can from as many teams as he can.

He's obviously a fantastic athlete but that video really shows too things for sure...

1. The talent level of the people he plays with and against at the next level is going to be roughly 1000x better than that in the video...

AND

2. Brown is going to have to play with about 1000x more effort and intensity at the next level...or he is going to be a bust...regardless of were he goes

The stiffarm at 50 was sick

I didnt watch the entire video, but if it's the stiff arm you are referring to near the beginning of it, it was against a much smaller kid who was in terrible position to make any kind of tackle. But yes the QB isn't very good. That being said, MB does look like a man among boys. Not so sure he can play like that in the SEC. I would even bet that CLK and staff possibly feel similar, they have stuck their necks out and told everyone that he is their priority so it's more of a statement getting him than anything else, IMO. I haven't seen the other WR's videos that we are recruiting though. Maybe they are all a bunch of studs going against inferior talent. I have heard that MB plays in a weak class, that seems to be true judging by the video.

You can't argue with his stats though...his physical stats I mean. 6'5" 205 4.5-40 ...I think his potential to excell at the next level all depends on his will to succeed and work ethic. He seems the type of player that works just as hard as he needs to. That will have to change if he's to be a star. If he comes to Knoxville he'll work or sit the bench and that's why I'm happy as a pig in schite with our coaching staff. They're going to get all they can and more out of the players on the team.

I watched AJ Green play a few times at Summerville High in SC when he was a HS senior, and he played against much weaker competition. It might not have been as weak as what Marlon plays against, but it still wasn't great. We all saw how AJ has turned out.

i a 1 1/2 hours away so everyone in k'ville come and be rediculous with the team spirit to help pursuade him (although i think the staff will do just fine)

I played Marlon Brown the past two seasons in high school. I am from Jackson, Tn and went to the University School of Jackson. We split with them over the two years. They beat us my junior year at home, and we destroyed them this past year at their place in Memphis. My junior year Marlon showed up and really displayed his athletic ability and tore us apart. This past year he was basically invisible. He did absolutely nothing, and our team consisted of mainly small white guys. I don' t know what his deal was, I know he is a great athlete but what I saw this past season out of him was ridiculous. I don't know if he was hurt or what but he appeared to be very overrated. Just wanted to share these thoughts. I was a outside linebacker so I got to go face to face with him a few times.

whall - you guys have a great team, just to start off, I live in memphis and still hear alot about USJ. The fact is he was probably pulling the conservative crap knowing that he is going to a huge D1 school to play football for free, so there really was no reason to over exert himself. now i hate that fact and i believe he should bust his a$$ for his team but it just doesnt work that way sometimes. The kid has alot of talent and potential, but he has to protect his value.
