Marlon Brown

I'm sure you will find this to be a bitter crum, but after talking with people today, it is our belief that Marlon Brown's grandmother did not accompany Marlon on his official visit. He made the drive over with his coach.
From Austin Price. Not good.

Perhaps she didn't feel she needed to or was ill. I wouldn't read too much into that. I know that's impossible for half the people on here, but that really doesn't mean a whole lot. Grandma has to be sold on the coaches, not the campus.

she didn't go to Ole Miss either... Marlon enjoys taking the visits without her, feels like he gets to experience more... don't read into it too much

I believe Granny wants Marlon's heart to be convinced of where he goes, which is why he is here by himself. He may or may not commit, but I don't think that the whole reason of him committing to a school is granny now. He's got to take in everything and I think that she knew she would distract him somewhat coming here with the coaching changes and getting to know the coaching staff again.

FWIW, Marlon's grandmother was exhausted from back-to-back trips. Marlon's basketball coach made the trip to Knoxville with him. I can totally understand as recruitig trips are filled with non-stop activities. I wouldn't read TOO much into her absence.

I just spoke with Chris. They were finishing dinner and heading over to TBA. He said that Marlon was really upbeat and was looking forward to the basketball game.

By the way, he saw THE ROCK and got a big kick out of it!
From Chris Walker's mother.

Some better news in there.

he also took his visits with his grandmother early on in the process... if a coach is able to go with him, then they go and she stays behind...

The rock days Nukeese for Heisman. I would read quite a bit into her absence. Doesn't look good for the home team imo.

If you think this is anything but horrible news for Tennessee then you are delusional

If it was going to factor that much into his decision, his Grandma would have made the trip. The delusion is only in the camp of those crying that the sky is falling.

If arrived at ~noon eastern today (11cst), and trip takes 5.5 hours, that means they had to leave Memphis at 5:30 am at the latest. Maybe granny wanted to sleep in.

Grandma didn't need to come because she knows he is coming here and she will get to see alot of Knoxville this fall.
