Marsalous Johnson

He visits with a poster's kids from Volquest. I don't know how old they are. I guess none of us have any siblings that we visit. And I'm sure none of us have ever misplaced something as simple as a toy.

I get the sarcasm.

Just not buying the theory as very likely.

In court, will come down to a credibility contest. What does the cop say, what does he say, what do people believe.

Well, if you know the area, then you would know that Putnam County officials, are notorious for being corrupt. Johnson has no repuation that I know of.

I live just north of Putnam County, but I don't see how that has anything to do with Marsalous waving a gun, real or fake, around in the general direction of another vehicle. As I've said earlier in this thread, it's a good thing Marsalous isn't a canine, or we'd be talking about his funeral services right about now rather than his intelligence or lack thereof.

It has alot to do with it. Who would you believe first? A corrupt cop or a straight cop? A couple teenagers that have no record or bad reputation or a corrupt cop?

He's corrupt? Really?

I don't know enough about Marsalous or the cop to make a claim either way.

Oh, okay. Gotcha.

We'll see how Johnson's story holds up as things progress.

I believe the now-famous Myspace will come into play now.

Marsalous's nickname is "Cell Block"

"Ima real thug so my rims scrub no blak n mile da blunt filled up....." is what he says about himself and his ride, whatever the hell that means. It could be just one of his favorite artist's lyrics for all I know.

He's in a "family" picture with his parents while he wears a T'shirt of a cartoon smoking a bong.

He may be a "wanne be"' thug, or he may just be a thug.

That is my point. We don't know the credibility of either individuals so maybe we should calm down with all of the "throw him off the team" crap.

For what it's worth, I wasn't advocating throwing him off the team. I was just calling the alleged gun waving ridiculously dumb.

At about 1700 hours, I was listening to the WNSR (N'ville) Radio Sports Talk Show, when an unidentified caller called in and said:

1. That he was a Tennessee Peace Officer but did not reveal his name or his department's name.

2. That "talk around the department water-cooler" was "there are going to be some surprises with the case" during court proceedings. He did not elaborate what the surprises were.

3. The alleged weapon WAS a loaded pellet pistol found on the rear seat of the suspect's vehicle.

4. The pistol was not pointed at anyone.

5. That "someone" (not named) could or might lose a job.

+++++++++++++++++++

We'll see.

Oh my God you are kidding me!! Wow, well, if he'd been nabbed with a joint I guess that would pretty much seal the deal.

But, yeah, you don't know if he's for real or a wanna be.

Some unidentified person called into a fan show in freakin Tennessee and said some other unknown person "heard" that something might come up and yad yada yada. Puuuuuuhhhhhllllleeeeeeaaassseeee. So many points in that where someone is either outright fibbing or tinting things with Orange-colored glasses.

I hate looking at the players' Myspaces. I went to MJ's and then went into this deep underground of our players' myspaces. None of the pages made me confident in their decision making. Almost all of them said "nigga" and had many references to drugs, guns, and what not.

They have every right to say those things, but it definitely looks silly.

Gotta love the holier-than-thou attitude of a gator on a Vol board talking about guns. Not the glass house!!!

What's even more silly is the girls who post ebonic messages to them saying how "hot" they look.

Not fair.

My job has nothing to do with my perspective on this.

I tend to believe the account of the officer at this time because his version makes sense. The kid's makes no sense and it has already been documented in this case that he lied immediately by claiming no gun in the car.

And don't tell me they didn't say REAL gun. Any breathing person would think to mention the toy one in that situation.

I think your attack on me belies the fact that you know your position to be intellectually bankrupt.

You want to argue with me, argue with me. But don't take a cheap swipe at me by backhandedly complimenting someone else. Transparent. And weak.
Lighten up LG.I'm just yanking your chain!Your view is respected.

Law Gator:

I want you think about what the alleged police caller said. Try and think like a cop--- a little. :)

Consider this:

1. One player gets a 502 and is dismissed from the team.

2. Another player gets "involved to whatever length" with an officer. Perhaps, he points a weapon at him. He gets a four-game suspension and not dismissed.

3. CPF said Johnson was punished because he "disobeyed me" (Coach Fulmer). CPF said he "failed to walk away from ANY incident as I (CPF)had warned the entire team at the beginning of the season".

Supposition:

CPF knows more facts than we do as he should. Therefore, Johnson's punishment was less than Smith's because he (CPF) knows more than has been currently released. If Johnson had pointed the weapon at the game warden then one's guess is he'd probably be dismissed. The punishment of Johnson appears to fit his involvement.
