Martin should do the right thing

OP's statement speaks to the instant gratification syndrome of today. I am becoming less and less a fan, but do not want to see us execute the poorly managed exit of a coach as when Fulmer was shown the door. He may not be setting the world on fire but he has not disgraced us and no reason for us to do the same to him. Personally, I am going to hope this team succeeds and he becomes the coach Hamilton thought he would. Expecting it to happen - not so much. The talent is in place, and having the post-season start in NYC would be a big statement we lack coaching. In the meantime, let's see how the season plays out and stop bashing the players and coaches.

He should announce his resignation. He is the Derek Dooley of UT basketball. He came in during a tumultuous turn in coaching and has managed to do nothing to improve the situation. Fish or cut bait. If he won't take a knee, push him out! Develop a plan to replace him that is built on action rather than reaction. Hamilton is gone. It is time for an athletic director to direct.

Thanks for the laugh.

It's really sad that 5 other people like this.

Yes, losing to a final four team on the road, what a jerk. Kentucky's head coach should resign too....and how about Kansas' head coach I mean he lost a couple of games too...he must really suck.

Or how about we wait until SEC play before calling for his head. How about we see if we make the tourney? Maybe that should be a measuring stick this year.

I would agree if we don't make it this year, then Counzo isn't our guy. I don't think we should have a meltdown after losing to a final four team on the road.

Didn't realize Cuonzo's resume stacked up with Cal and Self. I missed all those NCs and Final Fours.

Yes, as I speak there is a mob gathered on Richmond Road with torches and pitchforks....

It seems to escape some people here that we lost to the #8 team on the road, the same team that were in the Final Four last year.
When? Do we finally win some of those games? When? If ya gonna be a big dawg you got to win some big games on the road . This was supposed to be the year

True but this team is not as talented as last year. Still a very solid team.

Ridiculous. People calling for coaches heads so quickly haave no clue how sports work. Some patience is required. Especially when it's your schools second sport behind football.

Does Kentucky want to get rid of Cal because they lost to North Carolina? We lost to a very good team, it's not the end of the world.

True, however unlike UK Tenn doesn't have the schedule that allows you to have a road loss to a top 10 team because you know you'll be playing another ranked team in the next week or two. This loss was a resume game for the dance and we didn't cash in. Wins at UK, Fla, Mizz are crucial. Perphaps not all of them, but we need a couple of road wins against a ranked opponent. Season is still young, but we need more out of our youth. Hubbs has to step it up to help Jordie Mac on the wing. What I saw the other day was a team that just can't make big shots when needed (outside of Jordie Mac).

I disagree with you 100% did you even bother to watch the game? if so you would have seen all of the layups that jerone maybin missed, you would have seen all of the foul shorts that we missed, you would seen all of the nocalls that the refs missed when our vols were on offense, yet we lost by only 9pts to a so call top ten team in the country, Wichitard State is clearly inferior to Tennessee, had that game been played in knoxvegas, they would have surely got their @rse beat. ps bp is not coming back, so get over it

He has only lost 3 games. Let the season play out. If he don't get in the big dance he is probably gone, but it is way to early to tell if he can get this team in or not.

What if he gets to the play in games and wins one against some podunk hollow university team and then loses to the #1 seed in that region? Keep him 3 or 4 more years? The guy can't coach, simple as that. Let him go at the end of the season.
