Wow, you need to practice your debating skills a little. Don't mean to offend but to come on the board and call someone stupid and then have such poor debating skills isn't good.
This is a joke right?
You seriously think our coach resigning 1/3 into the season wouldn't be a bad thing, and you can't even understand why the original post was stupid, not to mention you can't even keep the subject straight. You started arguing about the "stupidity" of the post based on defending Martin's performance, which had NOTHING to do with why the post is stupid. On top of that, your best attempts at arguing have been fantasy what-ifs about Pearl having this team undefeated, and you present that as some kind of absolute fact.
To quote Ochocinco...."Child Please!"
But at least he could talk to agents and evaluate other coaches during the course of the season. He could be way ahead of everybody else and know who the legit candidates are.
I can understand that but just imagine how miserable the rest of the season is going to be. We have to sit through this for another two months. At least if he did resign we could then start to have some hope and it would give DUFUS plenty of time to do a coaching search. Listen, I know it isn't going to happen but if by some miracle it did happen it would not be a bad thing.
If you think the remaing season is gonna be bad with Martin, how the hell do you think it will be with no coach at all? Not to mention extremely unmotivated players who are wondering why their coach quit on them?
You're assuming one of the assistants would be no better. My contention is they could be no worse. I'm talking about the state of the program. It is horrible now. So I see his motivation and exasperation and wishing it would happen and believing the program could get no worse and in fact would then have a chance to start down a different path. The path we're on is futile.
So running the huge risk of alienating current players and the incoming class is worth making a change right now? You think that would improve the state of the program?

No, the OP is not about making a change but Martin doing the right thing and resigning. Martin resigning would definitely improve the state of the program.
I'm talking about a change in general, which Martin retiring and some one else talking over is.
I don't see how Cuonzo leaving the team in the middle of the season is in any way beneficial to the program. All that would accomplish is turning the rest of this season into a potential dumpster fire. The media would be all over Tennessee basketball and understandably so. Plus, if the new coach is handicapped by defecting players and recruits and the fire continues, who do think people would hold responsible for it?
