Martins' 61.8% Winning Percentage

In your opinion? Lunardi was dead on with his picks, he said with a win they were in...not a 100% but pretty good evidence.

Was our road woes a contributing factor? Absolutely. However, it wasn't the sole reason we were left out is all I'm saying. If we'd have done 1 of a handful of things we'd have been in.

That is my line of reasoning also.

Another fact...beat Georgia at home, Memphis at home, Bama at home, Bama on neutral court or Okie State on neutral court and we are dancing regardless of our road record.

Nah guy..... the answer was scheduling 2 D-2 teams in Walla Walla & Corban like Boise St. did.

Who woulda thunk it???

Makes him 3rd in the SEC behind Calipari (78%) and Donovan (63.5%)

So you can complain all you want, but the fact is we have a good basketball coach who's is recruting better every year.

The sad thing about next year, is we'll have the talent to win the SEC and there will be a good % of VOL "fans" who will be cheering for Martin to lose.

Agree, as his record has improved each of his first 2 yrs. There are individual on here that act as though CCM has been at UT for 4 or 5 yrs with a declining win/loss record. Not the case. He is showing progress and has had quality wins. People want instamatic results and forget he came in having to rebuild. Hopson and Harris both departed and his first recruiting class was no way going to be stellar. Recruiting has gotten better in his second class and the one coming is even better.

Don't let facts get in the way. Bring back Pearl!

Not to mention our opponents found their FT shots when they played against us. Opponents FT% this season was 73%. That's almost tops in all of Div 1 hoops.

Glad it's not my imagination, I was always sitting there going WTF? Announcers would even say oh this team is bad from the line, then they'd shoot 80%.

Both Martin and Josh Pastner are having the same difficulty with the fan base- being compared to their predecessor. Unfortunately people want to compare, but not every situation is the same. Now, Martin can't get to the tourney, and Pastner can't win a big game.

CCM doesn't lack personality, he lacks FIRE. He is a calm and controlled person, not a firey out of control person. :ermm:

I seriously just don't get this.

Is it because he doesn't paint himself or sweat through his jacket, or because he doesn't pick up a T?

There are times I've seen that guy more fired up than Pearl was...I just don't get it.

They've done it in a few episodes. It's just a general interjection to express agreement, and sometimes disgust, from a large crowd. They all start yelling RAAAAAABBBLE RABBLE RABBLE in a comical fashion.

You're in denial if you don't think it's our road performance that kept us out of the dance this season.

Not our entire road performance. If we would've won the Georgetown or Virginia games we would be dancing. Or if we would've split with UGA or beaten Bama in the SEC tourney, I bet we're dancing. So, it wasn't just the road record.

Could it be our talent level isn't great and the man should be applauded for even getting us in bubble talk?

People just need to relax. Check out the progress our players made in the last year.

McRae - SEC POY runner-up, elite scorer, couldn't shoot from outside the paint last year, deadly scorer from anywhere on the court now.

Makanjuola - A great defender after just one year, excited to see how he continues to develop offensively.

Richardson - Consistently scores when he gets in the lane, has a good mid range shot, becoming a better slasher/finisher, hopefully becomes a knock down mid-range shooter, and adds the 3 point shot to his game next year.

Stokes - Is really starting to hit the boards consistently. Next year he's probably a double double every night guy. Still needs to add a consistent 15 footer to his game, but we know he's going to put the work in to be the best he can be, thats exciting because he can be great.

Everyone doubted Cuonzo's pick ups last recruiting class (me included), but Armani Moore looks to have a very high upside. Chievous looked good at times as well. Wish we could've seen Reese more this year, he seems to have a high upside as well, good shot and athleticism for a 6'8 SF.

Just be PATIENT. Cuonzo is building a team that will be prepared to make deep tourney runs year after year. Think of Michigan State. That's how I see us being with Cuonzo in a few years. Were going to have a roster with a great rotation of Freshmen - Seniors, were going to play great defense, and were going to be in every game we play. Cuonzo will continue to pull 1 or 2 4-5 star guys each recruiting class, but for the most part, his recruiting classes will be filled with guys who will play 3-4 years of college ball.

I'm extremely excited about next year. Especially since we get to have Maymon!! Stokes, Maymon, McRae, Hubbs, and Golden. I like that a lot as a starting line up! A little small overall, but as long as Stokes continues to hit the boards hard well be fine. Because no one hits the boards harder than Maymon, and neither of them have much trouble scoring in the post.

I feel like our resume should of had us in the tourney boys, but don't fret, were on the right track. I trust completely in Cuonzo. Go Vols!

Did you expect this team to be in the Top 25 in the RPI??

Under previous coaching regime the final RPI rankings were as follows:

10-11 #34
09-10 #10
08-09 #25
07-08 #1
06-07 #12
05-06 #6

These RPI's are indicative of tougher schedules. And no I'm not saying that Bruce Pearl is coming back to UT or that is even a consideration.
