If the system is oppressive why do “ we” keep voting the party that oppressed with their policies back into office over and over again ? Honest question that I can’t seem to wrap my head around .. If I lived in a state ( let’s say that it’s deep red ) in a urban city that also deep red and I felt oppressed by any of the policies that these Republican politicians keep making to make me feel that way why do I keep voting them in office ?

Hold up let’s take this one bite at a time so we don’t get it all jumbled up together. The question I laid out specifically talks about deep red states , deep red urban cities , with deep red politicians . That means the majority of voters ( the ones that control that whole system are Republicans. We can flip that to deep blue which would mean the majority of voters are Democrats . My question is based on a state and local level because those are the ones actually in control of the system not the Feds . So I ask again , why does the majority keep voting into office the very ones that are oppressing them ?

Some of the dumbest people I know have PhDs. Going to school forever is more likely an indicator that you lack the guts to go out into the 'real world' and would rather wallow around pretending to be a college kid forever.
