This can't be! Bassmanbruno says that every single school in FL, CA, GA, LA, and TX would beat Maryville, Riverdale, and Whitehaven. Those three shouldn't even be in the top 4,000 teams in the country. They are lowly TN schools after all.

It's funny. The Smyrna trolls from last year are no where to be found. The Whitehaven trolls are out in force on.Coach T, though.

They would. Sorry 'bout it. Tennessee high school football is garbage. Always has been - always will be. There's a reason you will never see a TN high school football game on ESPN yet you see schools from Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc on there regularly. Those schools would kick the **** out of a team composed of the states best players coached by Maryville's coaching staff - talent differential is that big.

I'm fine with that. Most of the SEC states are laden with talent.

To get the thread back on topic, Maryville is very deserving of their ranking. They should probably be ranked a bit higher to be honest.

Why are you fine with that? And only Georgia/Florida are loaded. Alabama/Louisiana produce a lot of good players but aren't in the elite category... Mississippi has good players that never qualify... Arkansas is pretty average.. same with South Carolina.

Its not OK for the UT football program - I'm getting my forums mixed up.

But yeah - some of you need to come to the reality that TN highschool football has sucked and always will suck.

Who cares if they never qualify? that is irrelevant to the discussion.

I will say this again: Maryville is deserving Of their ranking, and they should probably be ranked a bit higher.

No they shouldn't - like you said - the other SEC state schools are loaded so if they play one of those schools from Georgia with all the talent (10x what we have in Tennessee) then they would put a beatdown on Maryville even if Maryville is likely one of the better coached teams in the nation.. they'll just get out-talented.

What Maryville does is impressive - but wouldn't be remotely possible with the same talent playing in tough competition like in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, etc.

People have said this same, tired junk about teams here that have played Maryville. They said Webb would destroy them; they dodn't. They said Smyrna woukd destroy them; they didn't. They said Riverdale would destroy them; they didn't.

This same talk is getting old.

Yeah difference is - those are crappy TN high school teams - where as teams that produce SEC level players on their team yearly... in Georgia.. Bama... Louisiana.. Florida.. etc would wipe the floor with Maryville - who never produced SEC level players.

For example.. Byrnes high school in South Carolina would pummel Maryville. I mean Webb, really? You really think they would even score a point against say... Moeler from Ohio? There are like 25-40 of these schools in the Southeast alone that will just straight up out talent Maryville and it won't be fair at all.
