He is bound for the NFL, they were talking about it happening possibly this year. I would love to have him but i also don't want him jumping ship in 2 years for the pro's.

Absolutely correct. I didn't even know what city ISU was in until five years ago and now ISU is not an afterthought. In fact, Iowa is very nervous. But, the coach that could of turned Tennessee around within 2-3 years said no or I would of been following Tennessee football as long as Campbell would of been the coach. Wish you all well.

Who’s the next coach to hire out of the MAC? Buffalo coach? Ball St?

I wish you well on Candle. I’m not sure how that’s going to turn out for you. At least NIU (not a rival?) is poor now.

I really don't follow the MAC as much as when my son played, so I really don't know who is the next up and coming coach. Crandle is okay and I knew him well, but I tend to follow ISU now since Campbell and 4-5 other coaches were at Toledo when I was going to every game. Yes, I disliked NIU very much. Kept alot of rings off my kids fingers....lol..

Negative. Been following this thread and enjoying the conversation and your views around our coach/program. Would of posted earlier in the thread but for some reason it wouldn’t let me when I joined.

Well then. Maybe so. Given the tone of some in this thread, I took it to likely mean we ISU fans are welcome for Tennessee not offering him.

I’m guessing this raise is a lot less than he could have gotten elsewhere.

Anyone find the buyout numbers? If that’s not increased than this isn’t too noteworthy. Got a bump for his staff. Maybe a modest improvement for himself. Helps in recruiting. For a year or two.

I think the notion that he got a raise just because Tennessee and maybe others wanted to talk to him is pretty mislead.

Buyout #s haven’t been released so we’ll see how much this means at brass tax.

I think when the numbers come out it will in fact be what he could fetch elsewhere. Meaning that he must just really like Ames and isn’t interested in living for anything other likely a very specific job.
